Me and my friend decided to make a quick trip to SFGAM yesterday with our season passes. My friend had to be back to Elmhurst for class by 6 so we didn't have a long day but it was fun.
We enter the park at about 9:53 AM and head left towards Superman which already has a line extended way outside of its front gates (No switchbacks being used and I don't think it was running yet since it wasn't 10) so we decide against waiting for it since besides the fantastic pretzel loop it doesn't have much going for it. So we head towards Batman which has no line whatsoever, we wait about 1 minute for the next train jammin to some Prince and enjoy the quick ride. We immediately head over to V2 which is also walk on and we sit 2nd seat from the back. Then we get back on the ride and wait one train for the front seat which is always my favorite on that ride it's so much fun.
Then we went back and hit King Chaos which I've never been on before and I thorougly enjoyed it even though it was a bit short.
Then it was time for us to hit Deja Vu. I had never been on the ride ever before because I always go to SFGAM during the school year around the opening in May and it's never been open on a weekday. (FYI, this is the first trip report I've done since I recently discovered these forums) So we get in line for it which was completely full (No switchbacks) though so 25 minutes later we're one ride away from getting on.
Then it starts thunderstorming really badly and they shut down the ride along with all other coasters/flats in the park. There's about 25 people waiting in the Deja Vu station for the rain to stop which stops about an hour and a half later. Another half hour later after some coasters had already been reopened they send The Vu through 3 test runs then we get on. Let me tell you it was AMAZING. I had waited so long to ride it and it was so much fun. We immediately get off and get back into line which was already full again from people waiting for it to reopen. The next train they send through breaks down. It was coming down the second tower and it didn't catch right so it valleys between the loop and the tower. 25 minutes later they pull the train up and it gets back through the ride. Since everyone had left the line we're about 3 rides away.
We get up to the station and we decide to hit the front row. 2 rides go and we're one ride away when it breaks down again. It got to the top of the second tower and it wasn't released properly as the train comes back down very slowly and it stops at the bottom of the tower. 5 minutes later they pull it up and it finishes the ride. We wait about 25 minutes while they're working on it or whatever and then they send it through a few test runs and we get on. The front row was so much better, so intense, it was GREAT.
We leave the line and head over to Giant Drop which doesn't have much of a line and that's one of my favorite rides. We do that and it's almost time to go so we start heading towards the front and we go through the Stargate SG-3000 motion simulator which was alright. Then we left.
All in all a great day because I got to ride Vu for the first time but we didn't get much in due to our time constraints and a lot of delays.
Around 1230 we decide to go on STT, while we are being lifted we notice there are some seriously BLACK clouds headed our way. When we hit the top the spiel cut out and the ride op got a telephone call and we immediatly went back down. STT didn't open for the rest of the day. Anyways when we get off we say some low rotating clouds and it started raining, so we opted to jump into Firehouse pizza before it started pouring. About 20 seconds into Firehouse pizza it poured, but the craziest part was how the sky looked, green.
Anyway I was pretty angry when the sun came out because temps were actually bearable when it was covered by clouds.

Yes! That storm was insane! Its rather hard to describe how hard it hit, and how fast. From the time i got in line for a burger at hurrincane harbor to the time i started to pay the rain started to SLAM hurricane harbor. Winds were outragous and taking unmbrellas across the park. People were running like crazy alll over the place and there was soooooo much lighting... a few seemed like they hit the park they were so bright and loud.
But i dont think it lasted an hour and a half like what was said above..

Shai, just to let you know (if you didn't know) that D Vu' is awful (operating) after more than a drizzle of rain. The mechanics should do 15 test runs after heavy rain.
It has been a bad week for STT, the Orbit, and the power outage. Condor's opening soon though.

Wow, good thing you guys got inside, because the sky turning green is usually what happens right before a tornado develops. Good thing nothing like that happened though.
