SFGAm, short TR and photozone pics. 04/24/2004

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Chitown on April 25th, 2004, 12:07 am
I am really not in the mood to write a long TR so I will be brief.
I was able to score some tickets for my daughter and myself for Advocate Health Care Day so we ventured out to the park for the first sights, sounds, and rides of the season.

The pics I provided all have to do with anything new that happened to the park. A few of the things I didn't get shots of were that Eagle and Viper now have seatbelts. However, they were both installed with the one across belt instead of the individual crappy belt.

We received 10 Bugs Bunny bucks at the tollgate and one free admission at the main gate for each person that entered.

Upon entering we noticed the new Looney Tunes meet and greet which is on the reflection pond in front of the carousel. They also only played the new Its Playtime song during this greeting instead of pumping it through the rest of the park. Nice sound system for this new perk.

Batman's new paintjob looks fantastic, the new additions are coming along except for Ragin Cajun which isnt even constructed yet except for the foundation.

SFGAm's ride operations are already known for being great and the trend continues. 2 rideops running the flats and the coasters were running with multiple trains.

Eagle's station got a new coat of paint and looks fantastic. Other touchups but I am not going to go into all of them. Check out the pics for the latest and greatest of what is going on.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Sounds cool. Where are the characters exactly. Because if they are in front of the pool near the gates it could get crowded. You also said there is a new sound system. Is that just in the front or for the entire park, because there was a thread about a satellite system installed in all the parks. And how does AE's and Vipers belts work with the seat divider?

Nice to see Viper finally getting some shade. Is there gonna be that " Its Play Time " and other music like that played through out the entire park? Also, did it look like they were gonna add any thing new to Batmans queue? Or just leave it like that.
Sorry for all the questions. :D

Just a few quick questions, was Deja Vu open? Is Looney Tunes We Got the Beat good? Are the employees interacting with guests more? And was Stargate open?

Does Deja Vu still have the "camoflauge" and how did Demon look with the new black paint?

Is that narrow path between the Carousel and pool new? Is that where they have a sort of meet and greet show?

The new concrete thing in front of Columbia Carousel is for the new Six Flags Party show.

Great Pictures Scott, Im still in awe of how great Revolution looks. You can't fit a ride into themeing much better then that!

I was there yesterday, and yes, there are yellow paint chips. The paint
was already starting to come off.

One quick question for whoever went. On Viper and Eagle, because of the new seat belts did you get less air-time?

I'm in total awe. I think I just stared at Revolution for a good 10 minutes last night wondering how it got so beautiful. It looks amazing! Thanks for the pics Chitown!

Isn't this expected to happend from the wheels making a groove in the paint after numerous cycles?

If you noticed TTD's (using a popular ride as an example) didnt have the wheel parts painted, they just come off anyway so yeah that makes sense.

^Same thing happened to SFGAdv.'s Batman, so I wouldn't doubt the same thing happens to ours. Oh well still looks beautiful in my opinion.
