SFOT Holiday In the Park December 27th & 28th

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby bobbinbop20 on January 1st, 2010, 11:39 pm
During winter break my family and I ventured back to Dallas (Same as last year) Only this time we decided we would be going to San Antonio as well because new credits are always good credits, well unless there SLC's or those dreadful Zamperla kiddie credits that happen to be very painful . Thankfully we didn't have to deal with anything of the sort on this trip.

First off I made a VIDEO for SFOT clicky clicky.......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7057SQCrOU

I'm sure most of you have heard of "Holiday In The Park". If you haven't, well your in luck because i'm gonna tell you all about it......

First off Ive only been to SFOT during HITP, and its my second favorite park in the chain, the park is well populated with a variety of rides even during this event (BTR, MR. Freeze, Flashback, & Texas Giant are closed during HITP) During this event SF brings in many unique food items that can only be bought during this time of year, some examples include: Many different unique fried items from oreos to green beans, hot soups in bread bowls, fajitas cooked in very large frying pans, and hot drinks in souvenir holiday mugs.

Also During HITP, the park is vastly decorated with MANY lights and decorations (I regret not taking very many pictures of the decorations, but I have some from SFFT so look for that PTR later on) I Tend to get overwhelmed with taking pictures of the coasters

Everyone knows that the true reason to visit SFOT is for the outstanding Schwartzkopt Masterpiece dubbed the name SHOCKWAVE. Seriously this thing is freaking insane! Definetly rated a top ten ride for me, the front delivers some nice floater air, but the back delivers some of the most wtf ejector air imaginable, plus the ride starts off with two of the most powerful back to back loops that make it feel like your being plastered to the seat. The General Public like always are to stupid to realize how good the ride is and are to busy bowing down to Titan, so this ride is always a station wait.

some random ride reviews..

*Tony Hawk's Big Spin - smooth, fun, fast, intense as always, im a big fan of these clones. This one happens to be my favorite because they load two cars at a time unlike most of the others which only load one car at a time.

*Titan - The extra helix just put the icing on the cake for this Giovanola creation. I'm a huge fan of the notsosteapfeelslikeyourfallingforever first drop.

*Shockwave - See above.

*Superman Tower Of Power I belive this is the tallest of its kind in the world (Maybe?!) This is my favorite S&S tower so far, however I have yet to ride one of the tiny ones which I hear are pretty impressive. However for me most of what I love about drop towers is the heights they bring you to, which is why this one is pretty awesome, Its super tall!

*La Vibora - one intense bobseld... quick direction changes are the best.

*Runaway Mountain - Why doesn't anyone talk about this ride?! Its almost my favorite ride in the park! Theres a wtf drop in there somewhere which really takes me by surprise every single time.

*Judge Roy Scream - A fun ride for what it is.

*Frosty's Sled Hill - FRIGGEN FANTASTIC!!!!!! (Yes they have a sledding hill and its one good ole time!)

Well most of you probably dont even read this gibberish so I'll get to what your really here for....PICTURES! Make sure you watch the VIDEO!

The rebuilding of Texas Giant has began. Well at least I think it has

This drop is probably my favorite part of the ride

Image
coming off the MCBR

Image

The first part of the ride can be considered similar to Raging Bull, although Titan does it much better

One of my favorites!

Image
SFOT closes most of the rides when temperatures drop below 36 degrees, so when that happens Runaway Mountain is the place to be!

This is very suggestive

Looks like a great day even with BTR and Freeze closed. That extra helix on Titan really makes the ride look much bigger for some reason. Though on that ride any added length is a good thing.

yeah, It really does make the ride seem much longer as well, and while its not as powerful as the second double helix, the first ones still pretty intense
