Kings Island 7/27

Let us know how your day at the park was.

I don't feel like typing up a proper trip report with a blow by blow of what happened because it was such a long day. I will just list the coasters I road yesterday and give a review/other important information.

The weather wasn't the best. It rained off and on through the day but no rides were closed down as a result of it. It was about 70 degrees which was awesome.

The Beast-5 rides
My friend Mike and I went to The Beast first to take advantage of the short waits in the morning. We rode in the second to last seat because we didn't feel like waiting the much longer wait (about 3 trains  ) for the last seat. Of course, The Beast was awesome and very quick in the back. We rode in the front seat, 3 times in the second to last seat, and once in the back seat. The back seat was very rough.

Vortex-1 ride
Before I went to the park I expected to ride this many times. We waited about 7-10 minutes and rode in the second row. I was expecting plenty of air on the first hill but I was sorely (pun intended) disappointed. Overall, a decent ride but it definitely didn't qualify for re-rides.

Racer-1 ride
Waited about 2 trains. Nothing special here, not much air but pretty smooth. It just doesn't compare to...

recaR-8 rides
If you would have told me I was going to ride recaR 8 times I would have been very surprised. The wait was never over 2 trains, and we sat about five times in the last seat to the leave the train (so I guess that would be the back?) on the blue train. We rode the red train in the same place and it was rougher. Anyway, recaR was an airtime machine and was never rough (on the blue train). Probably the ride of the day.

Adventure Express-2 rides
I had never rode this before yesterday so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, other than I knew it was a family ride. We rode in the front row and the back row. Comfortable seats and a smooth ride. No air time but some great speed turns. One train waits for both rides.

Top Gun-1 ride
I believe this was the third longest wait of the day. We waited about 25 minutes for car 6. Typical Top Gun: a short, intense ride.

Runaway Reptar & The Beastie-1 ride each
We waited about 10 minutes for each. I'd say the Beastie is better than Son of Beast  ...Yeah I'm dead serious.

Son of Beast-1 ride (thank God)
I have rode this ride a total of 5 times now and I was hoping maybe it wouldn't still be the roughest ride I have ever ridden. Of course, it lived up to its gold standard of sucking. The drop wasn't even any fun and it shook throughout the entire ride, barring the loop. The best part: We waited about 2 trains.

Flight of Fear-1 ride
Since it was raining for a good portion of the day, FOF had a long wait for most of the day. We just bit the bullet and waited 45 minutes. My dad, who is 6'3" (and not overweight) wouldn't fit in the restraints which sucked. Anyway, pretty good ride, the corkscrew is the highlight.

Italian Job:Stunt Track-1 ride
I'm not exactly sure how long we waited, but I'm guessing 40 minutes. I wasn't expecting anything awesome but I was quite surprised by the ride. It's a little short but the launch has something to do with that. There are a few intense parts like the tunnel after the helicopter shoots at you. Overall Italian Job is a great ride and it will be even better when the wait times go down.

Total: 23 rides
Overall: Great day, even though I got a few headaches from some rides but that may have been caused by the extreme lack of sleep I got the night before (the power went out at 9 PM so my house became very hot). Can't wait til GADV in about two weeks.

Cool, sounds like you had a good day. My little brother and cousin flew down to Cincy last weekend to spend a week with relatives. That little stinker made sure called me today to tell me he was at PKI, probably just to make me jealous
Finally Coaster Season!!
