I Can Smell Universal Burning From Here (1-2-10, 1-3-10)

Let us know how your day at the park was.

I went to Orlando this Winter Break and went to 5 parks in 2 days! On the first day I went to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Magic Kingdom. On the 2nd day I went to Islands of adventure and Universal Studios.

Day 1: Got to Hollywood studios at 930, and went straight to Aerosmith to get a fastpass. I then went to Tower of Terror and rode that once so I could pass the time before I went to Aerosmith. It was listed as a 60 minute wait but it really only took 30 minutes. I re-rode it since my fast pass time wasn't up yet. Tower of Terror is a very good drop tower and I like how each ride can be different than the next. Next I went to Aerosmith and got in with my fastpass in 5 minutes. I got 11th row, which I wasn't happy about. The launch was ok, it wasn't nearly as good of a launch as Top Thrill Dragster. The inversions were sort of rough which I disliked. After Aerosmith I went to look at the wait for Toy Story Mania. It was 90 minutes and they were out of fastpasses. Sadly I had to skip Toy Story and I went on to The Great Movie Ride. Which was a mediocre ride and a good place to rest for a little. Since I wanted to get to 3 parks, I left and went to Epcot. At Epcot I only had time to ride one ride which was Soarin' because the wait was over an hour. After Soarin', I toured the countries and then left to go to Magic Kingdom. I got to Magic Kingdom and went straight to Space Mountain... which had a 2 hour wait . So I went to get a flash pass for Buzz Lightyear and went to the Laugh Floor to pass the time. After I got out of the Laugh Floor, the fireworks were finishing up so I went to Space Mountain and saw the wait time was 40 minutes! I ran inside and went through a really long empty queue. I thought it would be a walk-on, but just as I thought I was getting close there were tons of people in the loading area. The line looked short at first, but it really went into another dark room and swirved around many times. After about 40 minutes I got on, and this ride really was boring. It was pretty much the Whizzer in the dark, without the spiral lift hill. There were one or two fun drops but the rest was pretty boring. After Space Mountain I went to Buzz Lightyear. I got right in with Fast Pass, and the ride was pretty fun. My car stopped in the middle of the ride and I kept hitting a target over and over again. After the ride I went to the hotel.

Aerosmith: 1
Tower of Terror: 2
Great Movie: 1
Soarin': 1
Space Mountain:1
Laugh Floor: 1
Buzz: 1

Day 2: I woke up early so I could get to Universal Studios to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Even though I got to the parking at 8:45, there was a line that took 30 minutes! I finally arrived at the park at 9:30 and went straight for HRRR. It was a 5 minute wait! I got on right away and I have to say this was one of the best rides i've been on. The lift hill, the first loop, and the banked turns were amazing. This ride is in my top 5 now. I re-rode it since the wait was only 20 minutes now. After the re-ride I went to the Mummy, which was also a 5 minute wait. The Mummy is an ok roller coaster, not my favorite but is still exciting. I had express passes so I went again since the wait was now 20 minutes. After the Mummy I went back to HRRR and got on in 20 minutes, the wait said 40. After HRRR, I went to the Simpsons, which is my favorite Motion Simulator ride, and then to Men In Black, which is better than the Buzz Lightyear ride. After those two rides I went to Islands of Adventure. I'm not a Harry Potter fan so I went to Hulk first. I got on the hulk 2 times with my express passes. The Hulk is another roller coaster in my top 5, it has an exciting launch and first inversion. It also has really exciting loops, which I always brown out on. The only thing I dislike is the last corkscrew, it always seems rough to me. After the Hulk I went to Toon Lagoon. Just two days ago Toon Lagoon has a ride on fire! I wasn't surprised that the water ride that caught on fire was not open. In toon lagoon I went to the Popye raft water ride. Its probably the best of that kind of ride i've been on, WAY BETTER than Roaring Rapids. After the water ride I went through Harry Potter world... which was VERY CROWDED! I opted not to wait 2 hours to get in the castle... instead I took advantage of the 5 minute wait on Dueling Dragons! I rode Fire first, which was pretty good. Then I rode Ice, which was even better. I thought Ice had a lot of more exciting turns and close moments to the fire ride. After Dueling Dragons, I went to Spiderman. Spiderman was a pretty good simulator ride, it was a little boring at times, until the end. After Spiderman I did my final ride on the Hulk at night which was Amazing! I thought that the trip was really fun and I couldn't believe I did all those parks in that short a period of time!

HRRR: 3
Mummy: 2
Simpsons: 1
MIB: 1
Hulk: 3
Popeye: 1
Spiderman: 1
Dueling Dragons: Fire: 1 Ice: 1
