Silver Dollar City 4/2/10

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby bobbinbop20 on April 7th, 2010, 7:44 pm
Hello All, I'm back......

Anyway, This time we went to Silver Dollar City!!

Here some Raw Footage of Wildfire, watch it if your into that sort of thing ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l07lvtRWuE0

So... This is a VERY well themed park, so if your into that sort of thing then you must go here! However I myself am much more of an "Ride" fan then a "Theme" fan. With that said Silver Dollar City wasn't really the most amazing thing in the world to me, but it is a very nice place for what it is.

I feel that if they used the same amount of themeing on the actual coasters as they do on the rest of the park then I would be Impressed, don't be fooled into thinking that the coasters have some amazing theme because quite honestly they really don't, and there coaster theming is about up to par with Cedar Fairs "Maverickstylethemeing" Really nothing special.

But then again what do I care? I'm just here for the B&M and what a B&M it was might I add!! I feel that Wildfire is definitely one of my favorite B&M's I've been on, it has a great mix of everything that I love in a coaster, Good air on the drop, intense inversions, and some pretty fun turns not really seen on other B&M loopers, overall I was very happy with Wildfire

Powderkeg, the parks S&S launched coaster was also super fun and packed with ejector airtime and a pretty impressive launch. I have to admit Powderkeg was quite a thrill especially in the front row (Sit in the front not the back, I tried both and the front is much better!)

Picture Time :)

Image
This would be the sign...

Image
Take me back.... to the 1800's...... when B&M's definitely DID NOT EXIST!! STRIKE ONE FOR SILVER DOLLAR CITY!!!!! And people call this place realistic :p

Image
I smell B&M

Image
I knew it!!

Image
Dont press that button... Unless you want too....... I dare ya!

Image
I'm fairly certain that S&S didn't exist back then either... ah I love S&S

Image
Powder Keg.

Image
Through the trees!!

Image
This is the coolest part of the ride

Image
Magnets give a pleasant breaking experience

Image

Image
There's a launch and a lift

Image
This turn gives an OMG sensation in the front row.... its good

Image
Arms down, head back, hold on.... your to close to that Nitro! Omg Nitro! Did somebody say Nitro!!!! Where?!?! I love Nitro!!!! Mmmm B&M!

Image
Some airtime to be had here

Image
I would love to see Powder Keg rollback up this spike...

Image
I'm wishing to be blasted...

Image
Next we rode fire in the hole. Its a dark ride with 3 drops, and it's a credit!

Image
aww puppy

Image
This is about as good of a picture of Fire in the Hole as your gonna get

Image
Althogh not as good as the bigger models, Screamin Swings are good as f*%k!

Image
oh my goodness...

Image
Yes! Yes! Yes!!! hehehe

Image
This is the only ride that's themed well, they did a great job on the paint

Image
This thing was strange, yet fun at the same time, basically you have like 75 seconds to pull yourself up as many times as you can

Image
swingy!

Image

Image
This guy was totally watching porn... that's why your not suppose to disturb him...

Image
TNT, very clever

Image
I rode backwards and it was pretty smooth, not bad, not bad

Image
blurry :(

Image
There's a church

Image
Random view

Image
yum B&M

Image

Image
If your wondering what's with the strange looking B&M sit down trains, the story is : Wildfire was originally intended to be floorless, but they ran short on the budget for the dropping floors and the trains were converted to sit down trains... the other B&M sit downs should get these trains.

Image
Loopage

Image
I love Cobra Rolls! Especially B&M ones

Image
This turn is exceptionally awesome

Image
Coming into the brakes.

Image
Wildfire is good

Image

Image
Wildfires corkscrew is good

Image
Trim breaks are not good, ah well. half the time they were off the other half they were on

Image
ohhh. artsy

Image
Skillet!!

Image
If you go to SDC, get a skillet!

Image
This old man will love you for it

Image
I think its time for a picture of us

Image
Waterfall: the experience

Image

Image
Back to Powder Keg for a front row ride

Image
There's fire... too bad you can't see or feel it while your on the ride

Image
The new for 2010 splash battle.... YAWN!

Image
empty seats is a pretty normal thing for a splash battle I see

Image
looking down the tracks.... dun dun dun

Image
I've said it before and I'll say it again, These. Things. Suck. Zamperla needs to stop making coasters.

Image

Image
Cooler: the ride

Image
If it wasn't for the credit I wouldn't be riding this thing, how can anyone make a sucky kiddie coaster..... come on....

Image
Another Zamperla creation

Image
Then the rain came

Image

Image
All the rides closed and we decided to leave

Image
Oh my goodness what happened to Wildfires brake run?! Who stole it?!!

Image
oh wait a minute... it came back.... magically

THE END :)
Make B&M Great Again.

Awesome trip report! That B&M sure does look nice. It would be cool if Raging Bull dropped the floors! haha
But really, RB is fine the way it is!

Looks like you had fun, I lived not too far from SDC but never got to go because I didn't have a car.

I think its really cool that both you and your sister are enthusists. You guys go to alot of cool parks i really wish i could go to. Me and my little brother love coasters, but my other brother hates them, so we dont get to go to alot of parks.

Yeah, I also have another brother and another sister but they hate rollercoasters and amusement parks.... so me and my little sister just always go and have a great time! I wouldn't really say my sister is a full fledged enthusiast, she's just along for a good time... she also doesn't ride some rides just for a credit, If she knows shes gonna hate it she stays back and watches me... like I have 153 credits and she has 118, she certainly knows a good coaster when she finds it though
