Why do you keep track of how many coasters you ride in a day

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I'm just wondering what people's reasons are.

The thing I keep track of now only are yes rides in general - carnival, or coasters in order to determine whether or not they are good or not (bad, good, or great). This is so if I go to Kings Island again in 5 years (instead of yearly) I know that a particular ride was awesome - Adventure Express, and that to me Flight of Fear was good, but nothing great.

I don't really care about the number of TOTAL coasters, water slides, or carnival rides, but it's more about the experience. Since I hated Ninja at SFStL, why should I go on that ride again, and waste my time. Or I hate Iron Dragon, but Ninja at SFMM was awesome, so why waste time on Iron Dragon if I return there? Also, I devise which park has the most great rides in my opinion (which park has the most bad rides to not go to again).

For example, to me SFOT has
8 Great Rides: Mr. Freeze, Judge Roy Scream, Flashback, Mine Train, La Vibora, Shockwave, Runaway Mountain
5 Good Rides: Rock N Rocket, Yosemite's Sam Gold, Casa Magnetica -Gone now, Crazy Legs, Boot Scootin
7 Bad Rides: Gunslinger, Rodeo, Wildcatter, Texas Giant, Titan - to me, Roaring Rapids, El Sombrero
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

It's not like when you keep a track record you completely forget about each ride. Most of us know the parks up and down anyways.

Though I do agree, quality over quantity.

Simply, bragging rights. It's fun to see how many coasters you've been on and compare it to your friends and enemies.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

I keep track of the coasters as I love databases. In 2008, I was keeping track of each ride that day, but it got to the point were i said "This is stupid" and stopped. For flat and water rides, I just keep track of I rode it or not. No ranking as I tend to remember if it sucked or was great.

Now keeping track of what parts of the rides I have not photographed is a different story. I've got list of each park I've been to and what to photograph next time.
