Finally decided to buy a 360. After passing it by last year in favor of a HDTV, thank you to everybody here who led me in the right direction as to which type to get, I bit the bullet and bought a 360. I picked up Madden 07 (it came in a package with the console), NHL2K7, and I am going to be picking up Battlestations:Midway tonight. I am on the fence as to whether or not to get the HD DVD player.
Any other suggestions as to some great games for the 360? I pretty much suck at first person shooters.

DONT get the HD dvd player....its really just another way for Microsoft to get more money out of you. ENJOY YOUR 360 (dont let it die! Take good care of her!)

I don't suck at FPS's I just don't like them. They are burned out and they need to "reinvent" the wheel. Seriously theres new FPS's every week and it's getting lame.
I would suggest Smackdown vs Raw 07 and DEFINITELY pick up elder scrolls:Oblivion. Also picked up this little accessary [url] http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=71 [/url] this is the best investment yet in my 360. Not only will it help prevent the 360 "rings of death" but keeps the system cool as a cucumber even after days of playing. Better performance overall too. The difference is huge. and WARRANTY WARRANTY WARRANTY. your system should have came with a 2yr offer. take it. the 360's are very poorly put together and break constantly. hope this helps Broadway Joe

Do you have the HD-DVD player? If no you shouldn't answer. I own it and think its well worth it if you have a nice sized HDTV and like to watch movies at home. It is so nice that its hard to go back and watch a regular DVD. I suggest pick it up, if you don't think its worth every penny return it. Also its helpful if you have a netflix account. I have been renting them to help on the wallet, otherwise I would want to buy all the movies.
^ for $199 its not a really bad deal considering the price of HD DVD players.

There are a lot of HD-DVD movies. If you do a amazon search you get a list of over 200. Blue-ray has a few more. Here is a good review site that covers both formats http://www.highdefdigest.com/.
Blue-Ray will lose the movie format war. Porn is on HD DVD only. None for Blue-Ray. Same reason why VHS became superior.

the only reason why everyone know what blu ray is, is because of the PS3. Before that know one knew about blu ray unless you are a huge nerd

I think Sony charging $600 for a PS3 that doubles as a blue ray player when currently, blue ray players cost around $1000 says that Sony is desperate to sell them. Only thing I know about blue ray is they have like 50-60gig storage space on each disc, which is an obvious plus.
Well if you figure that the XBox Premium system costs $399.99 + $199.99 for the HD DVD, there you have it, $599.98. The only difference is that Microsoft is giving you the option if you want a HD DVD player.
