Zero violations in over a year of driving, but I have been pulled over once, for lacking a front license plate. My car is incredibly crappy, and it seemed to just fall off on its own. I backtracked where I drove and there it was, in the middle of the lane.

My hubcap fell off once. It was too damaged to put back on, though.

I've been caught speeding once, and i was let off with a warning. Now as far as accidents....i've had more than one. first i bumped a car in the 7-11 parking lot because i underestimated how much room i had to turn. Then, i did the same thing at the library, except i hit the wall, it's a parking garage. Then, i wasn't paying attention, and i backed into a fence at the bank. My biggest accident though was on 12/29/2004, when i was driving, and accidently hit the median, and popped two tires and screwed everything under my car up. I was okay, but after all the screaming by my dad and being nicknamed Crash for the longest time, I've finally gotten over it, and haven't had any problems since my speeding warning in september of 2005. I've had my liscense since may of 2004. Most were dumb little ding things, but my friends are scared to get in a car with me, in fear that they'll be killed. I'm not a bad driver....really.

Sounds like me: I possibly backed into an illegally parked car (on the stripes that said NO PARKING alongside the building) at the Saratoga Square (on Rte. 21/Washington St.) but there was no damage to either car so maybe that was just my imagination.

I rear-ended someone in the parking lot at school (I wrote this in another topic awhile ago) pulling out. My fault, but really the guy in front of me shouldn't slam on his brakes halfway through an intersection for no reason. (He got his license that week so maybe he meant to hit the other pedal???)

Then I was rear-ended one time.

Then I got in the big accident and we just scrapped my car for $100 (we had bought it for only $2000) and the other person had repair work done. This was my fault, too. I was turning left on solid green onto 41 at the bottom of the hill (there really needs to be a left on arrow only there) and got hit.

Nothing, but it seems like so many people (espically girls) just keep crashing cars.

Ha, my roomate was speeding through a neighboorhood and a guy didn't like that, so he jumped in his car, sped up to my roomate (doing like 30-40 in a 25) and ran him off the road and crashed into him. I think he's now paying for my roomates college.

My cousin totaled 3 cars on 2 separate occasions within a 24 hour period. First she was in an accident and turned left on yellow, one lane stopped so she turned but then the other lane kept going.

So she borrowed her mom's car until she got a new one and crashed into a tree trying to figure out the radio.

I'm going to be 19 in April and I haven't gotten any violations yet. However, I gotta admit, I am way more likely to speed and drive "less grannylike" as an 18 year old than i was at 16 so i don't see this whole 16 year old drivers are dangerous approach.

In Michigan (I have cousins there), they have a no-fault law, so if someone hits you, you can't claim anything from them. You go to your own insurance company and claim collision (I think it's collision). Your rates don't go up if you caused an accident or not.

They also use a point-based system for violations. The more severe the ticket, the more points you get. My cousin has gotten over 6 tickets (mostly speeding) but her insurance rate didn't go up because she was never assigned points. Your license is suspended for a few months after you accumulate a certain number of points, like 10. So going 25 over might be 5 points, whereas not stopping at a stop sign might be 0 or 1 point.

What do you guys think of this? At least for the points system, I think it works well, mostly because someone who doesn't signal or stop all the way at a stop sign isn't treated the same as someone who is going 35 over, at least in the eyes of insurance companies who only track the number of tickets without looking at circumstances.

Thats why they make those car sterring wheel radio controllers! LOL

My cousin she got into a crash in October I think. She told me that when she was on her way ot school, this big truck came into the land she was in so she turned and the car went into a ditch and she injured her back and neck real bad. I don't think my aunt got any money back from that accident. but the car was fixed
