Dee Brown has single handedly turned this team, that was expected to flop after losing two first round draft picks, into a force. Not only with his superior offense and defense, but along with his superior leadership, he has taken this team of freshman and sophomores and turned them into the # 6 team in the country.

Its official... Illini Fever is back.

P.S. # 6 Illini vs # 7 Michigan State

Illinois 35- Michigan state 28

Dee Brown 23 points in first half.

At halftime, Dee Brown had as many field goals as the entire Michigan State team. Amazing.

Yeah, I had the reward of meeting both Dee Brown (Proviso East) and James Augustine (lincoln Way Central) during my times of managing basketballl in high school.

Its kinda cool to think if they ever make it pro, you got to watch them play in HS and meet them.

I briefly said hi to Dee at the elite 8 game last year.

Both were great games.

I dont' know if you guys have heard of Derrick Rose from Chicago Simeon, but I'm warning you now, watch out. He's a junior now, and is probably going to sign with Illinois. Best player I have ever seen. Period.

Yeah, I don't know exactly how that happened. I mean, it was a great game, but I don't think anyone expected it to go like it did.

Yeah, I came in hoping for a less than 15 point loss to call it a successful game. But when you have Novak, James, and McNeal show up in force like they did, anything can happen.

I also have to give big credit to Tom Crean for his coaching plan of allowing no easy baskets and drawing the foul each time, UConn really killed themselves with their FT's.

I am bringing this back, I was at the NU game. I am a NU student, I get in for free, and brought my friend. We were both there in front row right behind the basket cheering for Illinois, it was great. If you were watching the game on TV, I am positive you had to see me, I had my Bears hat and grey/red/blue Aero shirt. It was a fun game, great sights of Augustine, Brown, Pruit, McBride and the rest of IL! :D

Yes, I am a huge Illini basketball fan, I cant go against them. So I had to cheer against my own school, it was wierd, but well worth it in the end.

And not only did Duke lose, Pittsburg and Wisconsin both lost too, Pitt was undefeated too and Wisconsin lost to North Dakota. :?
