Im glad to see him go as well. He had a good run and brought many fans back to base ball, but it was his time to go. Im happy with the team this year. They got some speed with Hairston Jr. and although lost power gained some back with Burnitz. And they got rid of the people who were complaining last year( Mercker, Sosa, Alou) and werent good for the clubhouse.
good riddance. ever since he stopped being a 30-30 guy his fielding has gone to the (insert explitive here). Yes he could hit a few homeruns, but after he was hit in the head, he hasn't been the same.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name

A few? last time i checked, 66 homers isnt a few. Neither is 35.
Well, there is no doubt that he still had something to give to the Cubs, his lack of performance was lowering the Cubs moral. I was always a Sosa supporter up until the last game of last year. No matter how bad your team is going you DONT leave.
While I won't miss Sosa next season, I will miss Alou. He really was a good player.
