I say everyone go on a gas strike for a couple days. I bet the prices would drop then. :D

It's amazing how you pass a gas station and two hours later when you pass it again the price of gas has gone up like 10 cents.

^ True story. I had a sudden feeling of rage. Those greedy corporate scumbags! They are racking in all that money. They KNOW we Americans will buy gas no matter how expensive it is. And with all the gas-guzzling SUVs everyone's buying it just makes the situation worse.

Jamesb58 wrote:I know that the prices are high, but I don't think we have anything to
complain about, especially people with SUV's. I was doing some
research on Gas Prices and we are paying alot less in Gas per gallon
than much of the world.

In 2004, when we were paying about $2.30/gallon:

UK: $5.54-$5.64/Gallon
Hong Kong: $5.62/Gallon
Germany: $5.29/Gallon

You can check out more at:
http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/ ... price.html

The world pays tons more than us and we don't really have anything
to complain about.

That's not how much the actual gas costs. The government taxes that gas like 70%. So we all are essentially paying about the same insane price for gas.

It seriously is disgusting how high the prices are getting. Everyone talks about high prices in the UK but they include medical insurance in that money. Why can't we do that.

Yeah, I think it would lessen the blow of high gas prices if I got national health care included with the deal by paying the $5 a gallon.

Gas is getting ridiculous! Why don't they eliminate the taxes like they did last time this happened? It seriously is becoming a major expense. Makes you think twice before stepping on that gas pedal.

Because then the state will be in dept and then they will raise taxes if not raise the tolls or they will find something.

They definately need to slow down with the rising prices. We drove to Florida in March and just in gas money we paid over $1,000.00.

Now I think I'm going to fly even if i go to St. Louis or somewhere else cause it is cheaper to fly but don't quote me on that cause the news said the airline are raising fares because of the raising gas prices.

It cost me 35 dollars to fill my 2003 Cavalier, Almost as much as a ticket to great america. Almost there.

Are the gas prices scaring the people from the park.

I think not.

If the gas prices are this high the start of next season and no new big attraction, do you think their attendance will suffer big.

As of last week I have ceased going to Six Flags. Having been there 25 times this year.

Aero can you change the topic to $2.71

even at $2.60, we are still paying around half of what Europeans pay for gas. When I am there next year I fully expect to pay $7 USD a gallon by that time.

Though with our "high" prices, I may need to start going to SFGAm, instead of IB every other week :)

Only been to SFGAm 4 times this year at one hour away, and IB about 8 times at alittle over 2 hours away and having to deal with intense border traffic every single trip :)

^ That's true that they pay so much but as I have said before they don't have to pay for medical insurance. A portion of that money goes to medical insurance. I'd rather pay $7 for gas if i didn't have to pay for medical insurance.

Let's see what this week holds for us in gas prices. For me it has to go as low as $2.29 for me to even consider going again but I have to go in September as I can bring a friend for free and fright fest so i'm praying for relief.

WTF something is wrong with your car...lol. I got from Evanston to Lawrence, Kansas on just under $60.00 worth. How the hell did you manage to spend $1,000 on gas? That's like filling up 25 times.

yeah, there has to be something wrong with the car, unless it's a gigantic SUV or a RV.

I drove my Mazda Protege (decent but not spectacular mileage, especially with 2 people, luggage and a humongus cooler), from Chicago to Miami, to Charlotte and back for around $120 last year ($1.80's range), even at current prices I doubt it'd exceed $200 if I did that trip over.

It's a Ford Expedition. You only really get a half mile to the gallon. That was to Florida and back so it was like 500 one way and 500 back.

Regular is $2.95, and premium is like $3.09 in Chicago. Gas prices sucks, doesnt matter what other countries pay, those prices are too expensive. Pretty soon prices are going to be so outrageous that we'll all have to buy those stupid looking hybrid cars, but on the brite side , we'll save money on gas!
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

Everything you said there is wrong. Even school buses get like 3 miles per gallon. Your Expedition probably gets between 10-15 mpg. Either your car is f'd up or you have no idea what you are talking about.

Also, it's much further than 500 miles to Florida.

I was watching the Today Show yesterday morning, and there was a "gas expert" ( ) on the show. He said that gas would keep rising until Labor Day, and then it will start to fall all the way back down to around $2, which doesn't even seem too bad these days.

Let's hope he's right.

It's 250 miles fron chicago to St. Louis. Why would you own a vehicle that gets half a mile to the gallon, that's showing the world you have a sucker face at the gas pump. Even escalade or a H2 hummer gets better mileage.
