I wrote a check on October 19th to my accounting teacher to pay for a book. He waits until DECEMBER 19th to cash it. I had $3 in my account. So now, after all the OD fees I have NEGATIVE $46!
Why would you be pissed off at your Bank? You are the one with the negitive balance.. Even if they guy waited you should always have enough money in your account, its not the banks fault. More or less, its yours.
Yeah, but Galvan, It's sorta an unwritten rule that you cash a person's check within a month so you don't throw off their checkbook (most people balance their checkbook at the end of the month).
Yeah, he should have had balance, but the guy should have deposited it back in whenever.
^ I Agree. That happened to my mom once, she was paying the mortgage
and the motgage company kept saying pending in her checking account and by the time she checks the account the nextet day, she has -200 dollars! DAMN YOU MORTGAGE COMPANY!
From being one of the class geeks in 8th grade to one of the most noticable ones in High School. Thats what you call "Steppin Yo Game Up!"
If you can log into your account online, sort the transactions by check number, quickly scan down the list to make sure all of them have been cleared. Add the uncleared (word?) checks to the Microsoft Money balance, make sure both balances match, and I'm done. Never spent more than 10 minutes balancing a checkbook in my life.
