Pre-ordered Half Blood Prince about eight hours ago. It said it'd be delivered in 3 days, so I guess it'll get here by Wednesday. That should give me plenty of time to get caught up...
HOLY CRAP, that's all I have to say after reading Half Blood Prince, HOLY CRAP
for the last stretch you may want a box of kleenex nearby....
HOLY CRAP....
(I just finished reading it a few minutes ago)
I can't decide whether or not I like it better than the others tho, its up there...but its hard to say I think book 5 will still be my favorite, I should just read this one again, maybe it won't register as "holy crap" the second time through....
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
OMG! Don not read my post if you don't want spoilers!
HBP was so amazing. I decided I really didn't like it but i forgive her for it, because no matter what, the seventh book is going to be a ride. Usually you have to comb and comb the books for clues but this one laid all the clues out. I can't count the number of times she said "Harry was so preoccupied he didn't bother asking what a (Insert something here) was" Plus RAB...Who do you think it is, JKR hinted that it's someone we've met before.
But really this bok made me so said. Just the beginning with the Bridge, and the Hurricane, Bones, and Vance, I was fighting back tears. The first chapted jerked me awake to what Voldemort being back really means.
And about Dumbledore, it was sad, but I suppose we should have seen it coming. The entire book he gets continually more frail. Starting with the hand, and ending with his death (obvisouly). But depending on whether or not Harry goes back to school next year will make a huge difference in the plot. And also whether or not Ron and Hermione go with him to find the Horcruxes. I think they will, But I think they will be absent for his final battle with Voldy. I also hope that the other three (ginny, luna, and Neville) make it into the next book.
Who else was interested in Lupin's reaction to Dumbledores death. and Where did Lupin and Tonks come from. I was like "WTF!?!"
But, honestly, this is most probably my least favorite of the HP books. With the great exception of when I read the first chapter of SS/PS I have never been board with these books before. But she managed to lose me a couple of time. She lost me all through "Horace Slughorn""The secret Riddle""The house of gaunt" and the first half of "the cave" the Chapter "Will and Won't" Read like a fanfiction in my opinion. It was nothing like the usual book. Throughout the work I kept thinking, forget dumbly's lessons I'm more interested in the love Dodecahedron. (Where did the Ron/Lavender relationship come from. I wish that Ginny/Harry kept going, and all those shippers out there were leaping for joy when Hermione set her canaries on ron.
Although the reappearance of Umbridge unnearved me. Honestly If I were Harry I would have walked right up to her, wand out and said "You do not desearve to be here," and would have made her leave the funeral.
I'm also interested in Gwarp. He is suddenly almost as Human as Hagrid, and I believe that whether or not Harry goes back to school he will play a role in the next book.
But, really, I'm hoping that if the governers decide to keep the school open (which if they don't, I would think would be an insult to Dumbly's memorie) I hope that Hermione convinces Harry to go. Even if they find out that the other horcrux is, in fact, Gryffindor's sword from CoS. I think that maybe just becuase Becoming an Auror is important to him that he would choose to go back to Hogwarts, should it remain open.
The sixth installment of Harry Potter is a Jarring Curve-Ball right from the begginning. It will leave reading wondering if Harry will be on the Next train back...

Eh, sorry for digging up an sorta older topic, but I just had to express my feelings for Harry Potter, or at least the sixth book and fourth movie.
As far as the sixth book goes, just plain incredible. Incredibly sad, yes, but still one very *very* good book.
As far as the fourth movie goes, just check out my location.
There are spoilers in my next few sentences, just so you know. Anyone else think R.A.B. stands for Regulus (sp?), Sirius' brother? Anyone else think Snape is actually on the "light" side, and Dumbledores "Severus....please" plead was not for help, but for Snape to actually kill him? Anyone else think the locket found in the Order of the Phoenix was the horcrux that Harry and Albus went to get in the Half Blood Prince? Anyone still with me on this?
I don't think it was a plead to kill him, I'm thinking Dumbly saw himself alive. As far as RAB goes, It's pretty much considered in the Potter fanverse to be Regulas. Mostly because there is near consensus that his middle name is Arcturus. Plus the "Big unopenable Locket" in #12 Grimmauld Place in book 5. (cleaning scene just after De-Doxying)
I'm curious as to whether or not Bill and Fleur are going to go through with the wedding. Fleur said yes, but I can see Bill saying no.
But, counterpoint everything I predicted was wrong about HBP (Except who the HBP was...Which really wasn't very important) But you gotta admire Rowling. Those three chapter title's she gave away were the ones that would mislead fans the most.
Chapter 2- Spinners End: It was pretty much decided that this would be a place (becuase of the lack of apostrophe) But it ended up being snapes house, which no one predicted, especially since this is the first time in the books that we have strayed from Harry's point of view. Chapter 1 of Book four "The Riddle House" Could be argued, but it turns out it was Harry's dream and that it was just the beginning of the Legimency/Occlumency fiasco.
Chapter 6- Draco's Detour: This was also misleading, It was given to mean that Draco would go through an emotional Journey (Like the hope of H/D Slash fans. ) But it really is just an out of the way place he goes.
Chapter 14- (I think) Felix Felicis: Was decided unquestionably to be a person, turning out to be slughorn's potion. It was genius!
I did read the first 4 books, but I barely remember them. I could never get myself to read such long books like Harry Potter, simply because of the fact that I don't like reading. I did see the first 3 movies about 10 times though, because my mom is a total obsessive fanatic. It's so annoying how obsessed she is. But yeah, I do enjoy the movies.

Emotional journey? I never thought that when I first heard the title. I kind of figured it was going to be something in Diagon Alley or something at the beginning of the school year in Hogwarts. "Detour" doesn't seem like a word, to me at least, that would be used for some emotional joruney. Especially from the character that ended up getting past Dumbledore and his defenses. Tell me what your predictions are of Draco in the final book (Awwww man, final book). I mean, regaurding what side he is on, and that stuff.
I think that draco is going to battle harry near the end but harry kills him, then i think he will go along and kill voldemort but after he kills him one of the death eaters either kills harry ron or hermione, and i also think ron and hermiones relationship is going to go as far as it can in that book
^ I know I just saw that. It's a 20gb for $300 I believe. I just bought a used 20gb for $130. Kinda mad I did that, I would have dished out the extra dough to get a Harry Potter iPod. That would have been awesome.

You've never read the books have you...
But seriously, I've given up predicting rowling, But If I were to...I would say that he'll probably be dead. If Voldy finds him, he'll kill him.
And everyone's all abuzz with snape Good/Evil, I think he's still good. But Personally, either way i think he's dead. If Harry, or honestly anyone else from the order finds him they'll kill him. Voldy may kill him for interfering with Draco.
One thing that bugged me about this was...Why the hell is Lucius still in Azkaban? Who's keeping him in there, and doesn't anybody else think it's a bad idea to stuff all the death eaters in one place?
Yeah if you predict anything Rowling does correctly: it's all luck. I think Harry will die, it just seems like a "fitting" end. Obviously I don't want him to, but it just seems like it's heading that way. Either him, and/or Ron and/or Hermione is going to die. Plus, I think it's a given Voldemort is going to die. I will be pissed if he doesn't (and all his other soul pieces floaying around).
I'm curious as to what the final horcrux will be. (I.E. Something of Gryffendor's or Ravenclaw's.) I'm thinking that It's something of Gryffendor's and that Harry will find it somewhere in Godric's Hollow.
i dont know, thinking about it now, how rowling keeps suprising me, the horcux will probably be something we had absolutley no thought it could be, i cant wait for the next book, but it just sucks its the last one

On Snape: sorry to burst your bubble but Snape betrayed Dumbledore in every way possible.
Lucius: i think Jo just got lazy and decided tothrow him in there for another year. who knows, maybe hell be back for Book 7.
