Vibrate makes noise and if someone has it in a purse they can still hear it.

It's not like you can pick it up. Is it that hard to go without a phone for 7 hours?

Apparently Teens can't live without cell phones and text messaging.

My boss' kid racked up 8 pages front and back of cell phone calls and 139 txt messages last month. Makes me cringe thinking about when mine gets that age.

So true.

Little buggers use it for txt messaging in class. The teacher can't hear it. Sort of like a high tech version of passing notes when the teacher ain't looking.

I showed my mom this on a Good Morning America video clip online, and she actually could hear the ringtone. I'm not kidding, immitated the sound and everything. Maybe not everyone can't hear this... I wouldn't chance it. If I really want to talk to my friends, I can wait till 2:17 once I'm out of school for the day.

This was on Jay Leno tonight too! I don't understand why kids would need this, it's always been our rule that you don't get a cell phone til you can drive and who's to say that that really works. I mean, i'm half way deaf thanks to the drums and i probably couldn't hear it, where as my mom has better hearing than any of us probably could. That defeats everything!

I can hear it. The sound in question is between 18,000 hz and 20,000 hz or the upper bounds of human hearing.

Perhaps your speakers are of poor quality and cannot reproduce the sound.
