Several in show business got their start at Great America

What proved to be a tremendous training ground for actors and those working behind the scenes in show business will be fodder for a summer reunion at Marriott’s Lincolnshire Resort.

At least 200 former employees of Six Flags’ Great America’s show operations department are expected to attend the July reunion. The theme park was known as Marriott’s Great America when the reunion bunch worked there.

Some major names in entertainment cut their teeth on the Great America shows, which back in the day featured a live orchestra and sometimes up to 20 singers and dancers. There could have been four or five shows on a given day.

I had the pleasure of working this event. It was great seeing everyone reunite. Everyone there had a lot of fun. There was also a lot of footage of old shows and even a guest apperance by Mr. Bugs Bunny. It was a great event.

...co-wrote and performed for SFGA in 1989, plus seasonal shows at other SF parks.
...would like to re-connect at Great America park. Do you know who is leading show operations these days?

I wonder if this is just for GAm or are other parks in the SF chain going to do this on their BTR's. I guess we'll find out when more details come out.
