The calendar on the official SFGAm site has been put up. Check it out. Looks like its pretty much the same as last year's. And as everyone expected (of course) it opens May 3.
Yep, pretty much the same schedule except for one thing. They have November 1st and 2nd on the schedule this year. Of course Halloween falls on that Friday(Oct 31), but in reality the park is open an extra weekend just like Last Blast. They are also open 10-9 on November 1st and 10-8 on November 2nd which means longer hours for that weekend as opposed to Last Blast hours.http://origin.sixflags.com/parks/greata ... =11/1/2003
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Oh, I didn't even think to look at the November schedule. But now that they have that on the schedule this year unlike last year they might have more people at Last Blast.
It will probably be announced Saturday, just the website won't be updated until the 4th. I think it would be hard to brush off all the questions about the new coaster at the con.
It would be easy to brush off all the questions, all they need to say is that the announcement will be on February 4th. If they said it will be February 4th on the website, it will be February 4th. It would make no sense to announce the coaster at a enthusiast event, everyone there already knows what they are getting and there is no media.
I'm thinking it's gonna be Feb. 4th for the "official" announcement... They might answer a few questions at the conference, but otherwise I'm thinking it'll be the 4th...
There is and increase in the days that the park is open later than last year. In other words....The park is open later (till 9 and 10 pm) more days than it was last year.Whether its a fluke in the calendar or what, I don't know
They dont stay open past 10 because they have an agreement with the village of Gurnee.Neighbors dont like the idea of people screaming on rides at midnight.

That is awesome! I wish I worked there. Are there any other parks that have agreements with their cities to not stay open too late because of screaming?
Do all the coasters stay open or just certain ones? And if all the ride ops are out riding the coasters, who is running the coasters? Looks like those ops would be getting shafted if all the others were out having a good time at 1 in the morning.
They usually rotate every time they have a ride night. Like the first one will be Batman, V2 and Crawler. 2nd one will be SW night with Bull, Viper, Giant Drop, Cubasco, and somtimes Trailblazer. Last one is usually Wolf, Eagle, Fling, and sometimes V2 (deja vu hasn't been featured in a ride night)The rides supervisors work the rides
That is totally awesome! I love riding rides at night... especially when there is no one there. I want that to be me getting those rides. Maybe this summer I'll work for Six Flags!
He could always work at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, and from my visit there this summer it looks like it might be more fun to work than Six Flags Great America. Since they don't seem to be as strict.
