Maxx Force NEW FOR 2019

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby SFGAM_Hog on March 22nd, 2019, 2:14 pm
They posted a new "update" on Instagram. Only pics of the final inversion with nothing new and then a shot of the Double Inversion. Hopefully there's more going on than just that at the construction tour tomorrow.

I just posted this week update on the progress on YouTube:

As always, these are from outside of the park from different vantage points and never cross the park property.
Enjoy

How they're putting that one side up (the one that goes over Whizzer) right now with only one support going up to the highest point is weird to me. It just looks odd, kind of just jotting up into the sky lol. The crane blends in with the structure so it's a little hard sometimes to make out what's the tower and what's the crane.

Sweet video as always. I also noticed in the video that at about the 9:15 mark you can see Condor testing, and the cars on Giant Drop are down. A nice reminder that the 2019 season starts in only 4 weeks!

^ Nothing has changed with Giant Drop except for the lights being taken down. The cars are still off of Giant Drop as they have been since November.

They will be running three trains! Not sure if that includes the train in the storage shed.

Sorry it's so late but I was at a party. I will post my trip report from today either tonight or tomorrow morning. I have to upload pictures from 3 different devices so it might take awhile to post it but be patient because it will be worth it.

So the transfer tracks are going to be closer to Carousel Plaza Gifts? I would have thought they would have been on the backside of the station, closer to Viper.

They said the height requirement was 42 inches at No Coaster Con too. Edit: They actually said 48 inches at NCC. I would hope they'd choose people to answer questions that knew what they were saying. I think 3 trains is possible, but 2 seems more reasonable.

I’m going with that they didn’t staff knowledgeable people for the tour... here’s what was presented at NoCoasterCon:

I was over in Gurnee yesterday and you can clearly see Maxx Force from the Sam's Club parking lot on Hunt Club Road and probably beyond there. In that CoasterFanatics video, seeing the view underneath the Raging Bull turnaround and the massive double inversion of Maxx Force around the 7 minute mark was really amazing and is going to be a sight to behold in person. That's going to make for some great photo opportunities.

The site isn't letting me upload my photos from yesterday. Already checked the help forum and nothing is working. It says please check your php installation. Does anyone know what to do?
1.) Steel Vengeance 2.) Maverick 3.) Goliath (SFGAM) 4.) Top Thrill Dragster 5.) Mystic Timbers
Ragin Cajun and Iron Wolf went from Six Flags Great America to Six Flags America. I guess they weren't GREAT anymore.

I normally upload my pictures to "imgur.com". If you hover over a newly uploaded picture, a dropdown menu will display to the right of "Copy". Select, "Get share links", then click "Copy" below "BBCode (Forums)". This will copy something that looks like this:

If you paste the above to a posting in this forum, then click "Preview" instead of "Submit", you should see the picture embedded in your previewed posting.

I still can't find any info on how much Maxx Force has cost SFGAm. According to this site, most S&S installations run around $10 million.

https://www.themeparkvoice.com/manufacturers-steel.html

Their 4D coasters are the exception, which can run up to $30 million.

I thought Top Thrill Dragster (TTD) might be a good comparison, but this coaster was $25 million in 2003. With inflation, I'd think it'd cost even more to build today. I doubt Maxx is close to these numbers, so TTD probably isn't such a good comparison after all.

Does anyone have an approximate idea of how much Maxx cost to build?

Here’s a picture of Maxx Force from Carousel Gifts and the 3-Pt Contest in Hometown Square. As well as looking up at the tower after the first launch. As of 3/24/2019Image

Been to may theme parks, in many countries. However, SFGAm is my home park and I love it!
