Maxx Force NEW FOR 2019

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby SFGAM_Hog on September 1st, 2018, 10:49 am
I know this is Six Flags and they don't do much theming, but I'd love to see a theme added to Maxx Force. I'd love if there was some sort of character with this ride with a racing theme in the queue and have posters talking about "the fastest in North America". Or they can go the easy way and just have concrete and black railings with a few tvs in the queues :/

Maxx Force’s layout, from an aerial perspective, actually looks like some of the F1 courses
around the world made into a coaster layout. Also, the fastest acceleration on an F1 car is 0-60 in 1.6 seconds, but mostly it’s 0-60 in about 2.7 seconds. This is the kind of stuff I hope they have in the ride area. I wish I could post pics of what I’m writing about, but I have an iPad and I have found it impossible due to incompatibility issues. Anyone know how I might get around these issues?

I'm glad they have a concept for the ride as a Formula One Racing Type ride, even if there won't be any Disney level or even Cedar Fair level theming (although extensive theming would of course be welcome). I appreciate how recently unlike other Six Flags parks Great America at least tries to give their coasters interesting original concepts, like fighter jets with X-Flight and gladiators with Goliath.

Look for this to be down more than it's up. S&S Air launches have very poor reliability and maintenance issues. Also, S&S has had some absolute disasters with air launch coasters ie...Hypersonic XLC, Ring Racer, Bullet Coaster, etc...

Stating the history of S&S Air Launches. Unfortunately, they are poor on reliability and several have been taken out after very short periods.

This is what I wrote about earlier. Some of the circuits look similar to Maxx’s footprint.

Very interesting, SaveTheWAVE! It'll be a dream come true if Six Flags incorporates the racing theme into the queue and on-ride. I'd love to see a countdown at the launch and a finish line at the end. Also, I wish a ride at our park had audio playing in the trains. That would be perfect for Maxx Force :)

I'm just glad Iron Wolf is getting a floorless conversion instead of being sent to the scrapyard. It's a shame we lost it, knowing now that it could be converted. But oh well!

I would rather have Goliath any day. The conversion to Rougarou from Mantis at Cedar Point did not make it much better from what I have read. Iron Wolf was fun when it was smooth when it first opened, but it was so rough by the end. Glad they can still find a use for it,

Yes! Thankfully that red and black rumor from the reddit post was wrong! Most of that article was wrong, it did get a few things right but not much.

Makes you wonder, though, about why the logo has a red track. Maybe the graphic arts department designed w/ a red track for aesthetic reasons or maybe it was initially going to be red track w/ black supports before they realized they already have that scheme?

I can see the park expanding that pathway the Sky Trek passengers come out of for an entrance plaza for Maxx.

So I’m currently stuck on the whizzer at top of lift hill and was able to snap some pics. The train tracks have been removed already all the way over to Viper and looks like they are prepping for the work to start. Image

Hey, that's awesome! I really hope the park keeps us updated on construction during the off season. Maxx Force Insider anyone? XD

I keep thinking this is a dream. I’m literally that amazed by it. Yes it’s super short but it’s a unique & powerful thrill ride designed for OUR park. I couldnt be happier for 2019.

I think the colors are great. I think the white with grey supports looks very classy and we don't have a white steel coaster (besides Sprocket Rockets). Really, I'm just glad it isn't red or yellow.
I also think the logo is really cool. Hopefully they make a good sign for it, since I've really liked the signs the park has made in the past few years (X-Flight, Goliath, Joker, even Mardi Gras Hangover's is aesthetically pleasing).

I really hope Maxx has a nice plaza area with an entrance like X-Flight. I like the logo too! I think Maxx Force's color scheme is soooo much better than West Coast Racers. The yellow track doesn't match anything.

Agreed! Hopefully they spruce that area up and give Maxx a bad ass lighting package!

^ That would be great. The big problem for me is that Carousel Gifts blocks that entire area and everyone would have to squeeze through the pathway to the right where Sky Trek riders exit. I wish they would just build another gift shop somewhere where it won't block the view of Maxx Force.

Did this make sense?

I agree! They should demolish that gift shop and rebuild a new one that doesn't obstruct the view and throw in a resteraunt too! Will they do it? Time will tell! i can't wait to see more art work for this thing!

i love it too! I was gonna suggest gray supports when I was making my final FINAL predictions when i said black and white track but at least i got the red trains right  I think it's gonna look spectacular in the front of the park!

I’m sill confused on why this part of the park is considered Carousel Plaza? Notice the photos I took yesterday.

As you can see once you pass this you’re technically in Hometown Square. Same on other side. Once you pass the brickwork you’re in Orleans Place.

Well, based on where that new banner is, maybe they're using the old "Spaceport" area for the entrance, and that's clearly part of Carosuel Plaza.

(Also, you can complain about it as much as you want, but Pictorium was also considered part of Carosuel Plaza too. See this old map. Take it up with the park if you don't like it. http://www.mappery.com/map-of/Six-Flags ... e-Park-Map)
