Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Blacktop doesn't bother me. That doesn't mean anything to me. A garbage ride like buccaneer battle bothers me. Blacktop = who cares for me. Stupid nox bothers me. Sky Trek Tower CLOSED at 2pm bothers me, etc. Hangover (in my opinion) is a complete garbage name.

I agree with everything you said. Although I think an investment in landscaping and paint would be great. Its sad to see things rotting away (Orleans Place/Hometown Square brick walls, HTS buildings, etc.)

That’s coming! That’s exactly why they asked for a 4 million Amusement Tax credit. They specifically cited that they want to improve the parks infrastructure and up keep. This way the money doesn’t come out of the capex money they get yearly and they are able to use that money specifically for new rides and this money will be for upkeep.

^ Yay finally the park will look prettier. I'm still stumped on what we are getting and how the teaser helps us but maybe the more teasers the more information.

Thank you IssaCoaster! I want to see Six Flags succeed and be the best they can possibly be. Not subpar because of dumb self imposed constraints. Hopefully they continue doing things that will enhance revenue (Adding Holiday in the park, Making more warm weather parks 365 days a year, etc) and also getting more tax cuts from local Governments.

Now that Gurnee wants to develop that big plot of land across Washington street, I'm hoping this will be Entertainment Village 2.0. A perfect opportunity for a Sports Complex, Hotels, Restaurants, etc. Even better..... Six Flags might not pay a dime for any of it.

This has nothing to do with Six Flags. They have no involvement in this project at all. This is no where near what the Entertainment Complex they proposed back in the 90’s across the tollway. They had intended it to be like what Universal has down in Florida. The city walk along with the Water Park and hotels, shopping and convention center.

Oh no doubt this new proposal is different than the original one back in the 90's. It's cool because Six Flags isn't spending a dime on this current proposal, yet they would definitely benefit from it.

I'm actually glad that the original plans back in the 90's fell through and they ended up attaching Hurricane Harbor to the dry park instead of building it across the highway. I like being able to walk back and forth from the dry park to the water park.

Let other people pay for the land (and property taxes) and let them pay for the sports complex, hotels, restaurants, etc. Let Six Flags benefit from the increased traffic.

^^Just to make things clear, they want to build a youth sports complex. Maybe they'll add some hotels, restaurants, or other businesses will trickle in, but it's main purpose will to cater to local sports groups/clubs. This will hopefully be very similar to the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie just over the Wisconsin border, or like the complex in Libertyville. I don't see it becoming really a tourist attraction of sorts like Great America or Gurnee Mills.
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my park get a RMC Trex, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will double post on this forum.

Oh I know. That's why I said I'm hoping this turns out to be Entertainment Village 2.0 not that it's going to be. If that plot of land is fully developed into a Sports complex, Hotels, resteraunts etc. It would be great! Not only for Gurnee but for Six Flags as well. I wouldn't mind if they threw in a casino too, but that probably wouldn't happen with Illinois strict laws regarding casinos and the fact that it would be right next to a kids sports complex, so the Village might not approve it anyway.

I would love to see Gurnee built up more.

I didn’t catch this before and maybe I’m off here but did anyone notice the picture the park posted on Monday of Goliath? Caption read “Our golden hour Goliath”. Is this a hint? Are they saying the sun is setting on their last coaster record breaker to make way for a new one? Maybe I’m just reading into stuff too much.

For some reason it won’t let me post a pic...

I wouldn't read into it- it was referencing the time of day the picture was taken. Wednesday's was a picture of Raging Bull cresting the camelback with a hump day caption.

Honestly, I think everyone looks a bit too much into everything. No offense people, but teaser season makes this place a little nutty. I mean, I could analyze how in the video the guy starts running on his right foot and try to bend that into meaning something. Let's try not to have any unrealistic expectations and just see what the park has in store for us.

Speaking of the teaser did anyone bother to notice the colors stripes in the background of the "road to glory" intro? Play the video back in 1080p and you'll faintly see them. There's also a Justice league Towel on the chair.

I really hope this waterpark shit is just the park leading everyone on. Not encouraged about that, at this point.

Ok
After 2nd teaser I’m really thinking water park addition. They’re obviously going for some speed record though, right?

That's not the vibe I'm getting. Judging by the stop watches they're testing how fast he's accelerating and using the slide is a less obvious example of this rather than using V2.

My guess is they're hinting at X amount of speed in 2 seconds or less.

Does any roller coaster currently go 0-100 mph in less than 2 seconds?

Who said anything about 100MPH?

I don't know any Coasters that fast that I can think of off the top of my head, Kingda Ka is faster than Top Thrill Dragster both in top speed and acceleration but still not by much. It goes from 0 mph - 128 mph in 3.5s.

Edit: Formula Rossa is even faster than that with an acceleration 0 mph - 149.1 mph in 4s.

The reason I brought up the 0-100 mph, is because I'm trying to think what record could be broken if this is indeed a Roller Coaster and that is a record spinning in the background.
