2019 rumors, thoughts, speculation

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Taking a detour coming out of Hurricane Harbor would imply the path between Southwest Territory and Hometown Square is closed.

What if 175 yards signifies two things? One being 175 yards to X-Flight (a coaster) and the other being 175 feet tall?

Did anyone else notice the girls spinning their arms in unison making two full circles every time (in the scene with the 175 yard sign)? Two launches? Two tracks?
I gon' cut you...

Could Hometown Fun Machine be moving to Sky Trail's spot?

So the end of the detour puts you back in Hometown Square. Sort of goes with the path between Hometown Square and Southwest Territory being closed.

I wondered a while ago (and probably even posted here) about the idea of relocating the HH entrance to either the parking lot or the Pictorium spot and using the current entrance as part of a new attraction. If they are doing something that's going to cut off the SWT/Hometown Square path, maybe that's happening? Certianly would be annoying if they were blocking the path but not moving the entrance, making HH even harder to get to...

-> 175 is height in feet
-> 1000 is length in meters (3280 ft)
-> 0-?? In under less than or equal to 2 seconds (launch)
-> Max=Maxx Force

This is what I’m getting so far....

If they're trying to hint at 175 feet tall, why not just put that instead of 175 yards? Hmm.

Besides, to my knowledge there still haven't been any plans made by the park to attend a zoning meeting, so wouldn't that rule out anything over 125 feet?

The height variance was raised a few years back. Anything up to 200 feet doesn’t need a zoning meeting anymore.

No, the variance rules have changed. It was posted before but the height limit is different depending on the distance from residential areas.

Is Great America the most profitable park in the chain? Based on the patterns post bankruptcy. Our park has been treated the best. X-Flight, Goliath, Joker and now possibly another huge coaster? There must be something about this park financially that's driving these investments.

Who, me? I'm saying I don't think it's 175 feet tall, that'd all.

The parks that bring in the most money gets the most investments. Great America does bring in a lot of money for the chain so they see it is fitting to give us multiple expensive investments which in turn increases attendance even more.

Well obviously since the sign says 175 YARDS.

This was my first thought as well- I just feel like 525 feet is way too long for a launch section. Multiple launch sections totaling 175 yards? We can probably write off a pneumatic launch if that's the case- but how else are you going to get your top speed in 2 seconds if not via pneumatic launch?

...unless the top speed isn't really that fast.

I think the 175 is either launch length(s), in yards, or the yards is a red herring and it is the height in feet.

It may be outlandish but are we still ruling out the possibility of Eagle RMC? I have been reading this forum for years and I know it’s always kind of been at the back of people’s minds- but is it possible? Are there service roads or the train tracks that go 175 m to Eagle?

Yea i was thinking the same thing. was trying to look up avg launch length for s&s or other, but couldn't find anything. Also is this the first time "MAX" is wearing red? Maybe he's playing the role of the "red herring" lol

Correct me if I'm wrong, but every time a coaster has ever been converted by RMC (at least by Six Flags, but most others I believe as well), the ride has "closed forever" in August or earlier, and then the new conversion was announced as a big "surprise" a bit later. Seeing as that hasn't happened, I'm saying no way. At least not for 2019. (And plenty of other reasons too, but that alone is enough).
