In that picture is that the Big Easy Balloons sign or Mardi Gras Hangover's?

Now that’s an update. Looks like there’s only one more piece to go.

The ride structure has been completed. Surprisingly, the top half is actually all purple. Its only orange in the middle 2 pieces.

The loop is visible from Grand Avenue, I didnt think it would be tall enough to see. I wonder when they will put the rest of the train on and test it. Yeah, I know there's more work to be done though.

Well, remember that Mardi Gras Hangover is a pretty substantial 100 feet in height. By comparison, Condor is supposedly 112 feet tall and that's in a nearby location in the park, and that's visible from Grand Avenue. So Mardi Gras Hangover will be visible from a lot of places.

It's just laying out in the boneyard. Right next to Jester's Wild Ride.

It's not that old....is the park not wanting to even attempt to sell it?

Is Orbit around there too?

I still think looking at images of the area that Jester's Wild Ride could've been kept. There seemed to be enough space for it even with the Joker. Perhaps there were other reasons it was removed.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a Chance Freestyle like what Great Escape is getting this year in that spot. They could demolish the old SF Outfitters building to make more space and the ride only requires a 48 ft concrete pad. It seems like a cheap addition that could be added the same year as another ride.

Too small, besides we basically had a version of that Bottoms Up anyone? Besides another trabant or even a Wipeout would be better. Those have better capacity and we all know we sorely need a high capacity family/thrill ride.

Scrapped = sent to the scrap yard. It's gone. Dead. Scrap metal. 0 chance of revival.

Yeah, they are shooting for around Memorial Day Weekend for the new record breaking coaster.

Hank Salemi will be among the first to ride the world’s largest roller coaster of its kind, the Mardi Gras Hangover, when it opens to the public, most likely on Memorial Day Weekend at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee.

“We’re anxious to get it up and running so we can test it,” said Salemi, president of Great America. “I love that one of the perks of my job is to be one of the first ones on new roller coasters.”

“I ride all of our coasters as much as I can,” said Salemi. He’s anxious to test out Mardi Gras Hangover, which is 100 feet tall and has 32 seats for patrons to experience multiple inversions and 360 degree revolutions.

“It could break the world’s record for most hang-time on a coaster,” Salemi said. “I think it will be one of the most exciting rides we’ve put up in a long time.
