What rides were all in the Mardi Gras area when it still was part of Orleans Place?

The rides in the current Mardi Gras Area pre-Mardi Gras would have included the following (please correct me if I miss any):
Gulf Coaster (1976)
Cajun Cliffhanger (1976-2000)
Orleans Orbit (1976-1983)
Traffique Jam (1976-1983)
The Edge (1983-1986)
Roaring Rapids (1984-Present)
Power Dive (1987-2001)

So that meant that in 2002 and 2003 the only ride in that area was Roaring Rapids, so it was a good thing they revitalized it. Unfortunately, with the removals of Ragin' Cajun and now Jester's Wild Ride, Mardi Gras appears to be slowly going back to the days where there were hardly any rides there.
Ride Count 2014: 100
Ride Count 2015: 108
Ride Count 2016 (So Far): 166

That simulator ride in the Eagle queue was only there for the last few years before it became Wiggles World, IIRC. Before that it was a small stage. It was an up charge ride and only held a few people, I never did it.

(A little more research shows me this photo set that reminds me I was wrong above: by 2004, the simulator was gone and replaced by a few upcharge VR things... https://flic.kr/s/aHsiDs4QxS)

This has been bugging me for quite some time.

Does anyone know why X-Flight didn't run backwards on Coaster Enthusiast Day 2013?

I remember I received a flyer advertising the event sometime in spring 2013 (I also got one for Batman Backwards) and it said X-Flight was running the last 3 rows backwards or something along with Viper and Batman. I ended up not going to the event but I'm still curious as to what happened.

I asked both Cam and Justin and neither of them have any idea what I'm talking about and I haven't seen any info here after 3 years of searching either. Am I the only who got this or what? I'm pretty sure it's laying around my house somewhere, I had a picture of it on my old phone. (The flyer)

I have no memory of that. But the answer is probably something uninteresting like "it was too much work so they didn't bother" or "they changed their mind".

That year one of the other wings (England maybe) ran a few rows backwards, I don't remember any sort of claim like that from the park, and I doubt they'd dedicate several days worth of maintenance resources just to run it backwards on one day for a group that the park actively dislikes.

^Yeah, that was The Swarm at Thorpe Park. Merlin(the company that runs Thorpe Park) decided to run the last 2 or 3 rows backwards to get a boost in attendance, as the figures they got when it opened weren't as high as they hoped. It was just a gimmick to get more guests in.

The UK is really dire when it comes to coasters. Hopefully the Mack BPB is getting will change that.

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of having some of the coasters not open until 11:00? I'm sorry if this has been discussed previously. I guess I can kind of understand Eagle, as it's in the back of the park, but why Whizzer? Is it a matter of trying to save a little on staffing?

Kind of the same question on Scenic Railway. It's a popular attraction for families, why the limited operation of 2:00-8:00?

Whizzer opens later especially during Fright Fest. This has to do with the motors on the trains for the spiral lift. Doesn't mix with the cold very well.

Does the Justice League ride have any size restrictions, relatively speaking? I'm going with someone who can't fit on the rides other than Whizzer, maybe Demon but otherwise no other rides with restraints. What type of restraints does Justice League have, how restrictive are they compare to coasters and other rides?

Here's a picture to give you an idea of what they look like

It *might be a problem since there are no individual lap-bars, but I'd give it a try

Another random question

Does anyone know why the park doesn't open during the weekends leading up to Fright Fest anymore?

The park is closed before Fright Fest because they are getting everything ready. Students are back in school so they cannot be at the park as often as in the summer to help prepare for FF.

Few years ago they were open a few days during that transition period and it was usually dead in the park. That would be the most likely reason,it's just not profitable.

Question - Does the Whizzer NOT contain up-stop wheels? I heard that somewhere but an internet search yielded no conclusive answer.

Yes, Whizzer does not have up-stops wheels. It has more of a upstop pad.

Yeah, I would agree with this - the weekend or two after Labor Day but before the park closed for the regular season were (at least for the last few years they did it) incredibly dead, some of the most empty days I ever had. So while I loved them, it doesn't surprise me that they got rid of those days.

The park is open for buyouts. Companies like McDonalds rent out the park for a day (or half) on the weekends.

Whizzer has upstop wheels. That is the cover for the wheels. They are at an angle and act as the side and upstop wheels.

Looks like only running and guide wheels (yes, they are at an angle) to me. There is still a pad though that runs all the way underneath serving as the upstop.

Quick Question:
Anyone know if the path behind Yankee Clipper was "open to traffic"?

That's just the Picnic Grove that's still there now, right? At least in my memory, that was never ordinarily open to the public, but I guess I can't say it never was?
