Season Photo Pass

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Eagle04 on May 9th, 2016, 11:56 pm
What are the opinions on the season photo pass?

Going off memory but Superman, Bull, X Flight and Goliath are the only ones with cameras right?

My memory is hazy, does the park staff photographers past carousel plaza?

Had a great time with Disney World's photopass but obviously Great America a whole other game.

What is the current price for a single print or download?

TDK also has ORPs, and I'm almost certain JL will have them too.

I don't really bother with the photo pass. Why pay money for a picture when your handy-dandy smartphone can take a picture for free?

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

Ah, but here's where you get creative- You take a picture of the ORP. :P

I've only ever gotten 2 ORPs, Goliath on Opening day 2014, and X-Flight, when I made the greatest face on any ORP ever. Any other time, pass.

I don't remember the last time I actually stopped at one of those kiosks after a ride, but there's always a big cluster-f of people loitering at them, so that seems like it would be a good idea for a park to implement.
I can't think of a better opportunity for an up-sell than also allowing guests to add it on to their pass right then and there at the on-ride photo kiosk as they exit the ride.

Last year, I paid $12.84 (including tax) for a Goliath on-ride picture.

Technically you aren't supposed to take pictures of the preview. Our park is surprisingly lax on it, but SFOG and SFGAd have signs everywhere saying not to do so. An employee just about knocked over her monitor trying to block somebody from taking their personal picture of Green Lantern.

Is it the same price at the park as it would be buying ahead of time online? We really liked having the photo pass last year. We would always try to make different funny poses each time, like devil horns on our head during Raging Bull. It is always nice to go back and look at some of the fun times we had. Just remember to download and save your photos within 30 days of your visit otherwise they are deleted. I didn't realize this the first time we used it.

I only ever got one ORP Spacely's Sprocket Rockets during Fright Fest. First Rollercoaster ride and the friends who were with me had to get it for me because I screamed like a little kid, uttering every profanity known to man. :o  I have since been tamed and now ride with a jokerish giddy laugh that borders on psychotic.

How exactly does the photo pass work? Let's say you ride Raging Bull. After you ride you go to the photo stall, and then what? How do you get a digital copy?

They scan the card and it gets added to your online account. Should be able to sign in at mysixflagsphotos.com Also they didn't tell me this but they work at every park in the chain. Sorta bummed I didn't bring it to SFDK back in February.

Sweet! Would really be useful if they had picture for just about every coaster like Cedar Fair. Oh well, I get paid tomorrow so I'll get it then. SFNE will be nice with the pass.
