Let the speculation begin! I think they should focus on maintaining the rides instead of building new stuff. American Eagle is in need of a paint job and Superman needs one too. I just hope its not another water park expansion.

Would a paint job be something the park announces to the public? Not quite : )

My fingers are crossed for a Screamin' Swing (ala: SkyHawk)...
But chances are, we'll get a SkyScreamer.

I actually kinda hope that Viper gets topper track but i think they already would've announced it since they announce the Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas will close on August 5th so that it can get topper track.

Some of the comments from the GP on facebook are so ridiculous they're laughable. Here are some of my favorites:

"It's a wing rider? Please say its a wing rider"
"a removal of american eagle"
"A roller coaster like raging bull not xflight"
"Apolicpus a new stand up rollercoster"
"yes there burning down the american eagle its bout time" (Burning down? LOLWUT)
"hmmm...maybe an Intamin Wing Rider like this one that launches 0-83mph in 4 seconds?"
"Something like the top fuel dragster at ceader point I hope" (Top fuel. Lol)
"A mega coaster maybe so we dont have to go to cedar point to ride real coasters.... A king da ka would be nice!!" (Cause thats totally possible with a heigh limit just about 300)

Six flags has some really dumb GP

As for what I think it'll be, heres what I think:
- A skycreamer in Yukon Territory (Creds to galvan :3)
- El loco (maybe just maybe)
- Giant kid area in back of park
- Painting pictorium
Xlight total rides:
50 times and in every row except front row left wing.

Aren't you JUST as ridiculous for thinking the park would add:

"- El loco (maybe just maybe)"

I honestly think thats the least possible to happen out of the list. My friend ragingbull1331 thinks we could get an el loco, and thats the only reason its on the list.

Im glad SF is announcing it early instead of waiting till next year it could be a ride who knows Im glad were getting something. Dont wanna start anything but anybody noticed the blue looking tubes behind the old B96 station when you ride the train it look like coaster parts.

It will most likely be a sky screamer. They did a similar box thing when SFDK got their's a few years back.

Not to mention i the people who said they wanted the park to bring Shockwave back (from the dead) or Iron Wolf (Yeah they just stuck it over at Maryland for a year than decided to bring it back here and market it as a brand new ride)

But yeah anyway SkyScreamer even though i'd love a Screamin' Swing.

BTW has SFGAm gone to the Gurnee zoning board?

Topper track on American Eagle would do WONDERS - especially the helix.

Weren't there rumors about one of those screaming swings?

I didn't think so, so that makes me wonder if it really is a Sky Screamer. There would be no point to it if it was only 120ft high. If they did already, I would be surprised that no one here has mentioned that yet.

I checked the Village of Gurnee site yesterday, and the last couple of zoning board meetings, including todays, were cancelled. The next scheduled meeting is August 15, but there is no agenda yet.

^Ah. So we may see a Sky Screamer after all. I personally don't want one, but I don't think it would be a bad addition to the park.

It probably is going to be some kiddie thing. A Six Flags employee was surveying people in Triple Play, and Whizzer last time I was there, and even maybe a month or 2 ago, the same person was surveying people in the Whizzer line. And no, I don't know what questions she asked. What a waste of money to play around with the kiddie areas once again.
Ilovigo-- Me = Dopey; just trying to get another kiss from Snow White. |Remember you don't know what you got until it's gone. That ride you liked might be in the dump next year. Or if you lose a leg, you can't ride much of anything. Cherish what you have now.

I'm all for more family/kids stuff. It would be nice to have a more classic "family" park back. I like going with my family, but with all the acting-out "older kids" it's a bit annoying. So much for "my family comes here."

They really changed their demographic over the years and seem to be stuck now. So it's logical that they would try to market to family types.

Call me crazy... But just because they added X-Flight - the park isn't a "Family Park" any longer?
Not sure you make any sense buddy.

Did you forget about the recent water park addition, and Little Dipper?

Like I try too always do with things like this...

Lets try looking at this with some common sense.

If it were a show of some sort, Why would you have it shipped to you in a crate?
Painting a ride would not be a great 2013 announcement.

So I have my money on some kind of flat ride.

Sky Screamers are the flavor of the month right now.

Please no more talk of an El Loco ride...

Do you really want to see SFGAm have a ride with WORSE capacity then Cajun?

When I mentioned painting rides I ment that should be their top priority. I know that would not be the announcement. I'm just tired of the park not painting some of the rides like they should. My girlfriend who was visiting even saw how bad Eagle needed paint. Whenever I go I usually make a complaint about Eagle not running both sides if its not or tell them what I think needs to be painted.I always also give compliments.

Granted by the crate, it looks like they might be going for an Acme type look, so I think the kiddy rides will be merged into a Looney Toons area. I think that we will also get one more thing though, and that will probably be a flat. My guess is a Sky Screamer. Doing this, they will keep the kids happy as well as not leave out the older crowd.

^Leave out the older crowd? They just appeased the older crowd this year....are we that over it already and looking for the next thing? It wouldn't surprise me if they merged the kiddie rides displaced from the go-karts and dipper with the ones in Camp and use part of the IW footprint.
