This is very exciting stuff. It looks like they have the third section of lift hill track on site and ready to go so that will most likley go up next. Man, why cant it just be May already?
^ I'm going with tomorrow for topping off. I'm guessing they'll get two more pieces up after lunch. They're not doing much right now because the second crane is off screen retrieving the last lift piece, and they need both cranes to work on the lift.
Not to reference another coaster watching swarm the lift seemed much higher.. But maybe it's because the camera is making me feel it isn't that tall.. I do love the progress so far amazing work
Does the reason some parks skimp on scenery primarily budget cuts? Just wondering why parks like universal studios go deep into themeing and scenery and sfga is kind of sub par? I ask cause I wonder how this scenary and station design will be?
^Universal Studios and Six Flags are totally different when it comes to themeing and scenery. As long as the ride is up and running properly and ready to open even without finished scenery, landscaping, themeing, etc. they could care less. Example: SUF opening day. I guess you can say that Univeral has a better reputation to maintain than SF.
May I ask since I think you guys know a lot about theme parks do you think sfga would make more money if they invested in themes instead of just the rides? I love the batman theme in the park I guess my thinking is it would make them more money.. What do you think?
Watching the video I was looking at the lift speed for ride is there a reason the lift speed is faster or slower than others? Wondering will this have a fast lift or not?
Seeing at how much progress they have made today on the lift, I can see X-flight being topped off before the end of today. Only track piece left for the lift hill is the crown.
There are actually two pieces left of the lift. The chain continues halfway on to the next piece after the crest. Also, the next support isn't until the next piece after the crest, so they must both go up the same day. So unless the crew is feeling really ambitious and/or want to work late today, they probably won't get any more track up today.
The lift is looking pretty sexy!! I noticed in the No Coaster Con thread someone said something about the water element being a "possibility" but the right side of the screen has a whole bunch of water PVC piping...just food for thought!
Also, Depth is probably a factor...but compare the lift hill to that of Raging Bull in the background. Is it just me or does the angle of X-Flight's lift look significantly greater?
Most of the B&Ms in recent years have steeper lifts like X-Flight. Parks don't usually release lift hill angles because most people don't care. I would estimate X-Flight's lift is probably around 45 degrees while Bull is probably around 25 degrees.

Maybe it's because it's closer the the camera? It's steeper, not higher. If the camera was slightly to the right and facing Bull, I'd be able to figure out the angle with simple geometry.
