I'm not saying they're going faster than normal or slower than normal. The speed of this seems about the same as last years Green Lantern at SFGadv....And you KNOW that when the weather improves, they'll get more done daily.

As for topping out, pretty sure that can't happen until the first drop is built up to meet with it at the top.
I would rather these men and women working on the ride as safely as possible. They got almost 3/4 of the lift hill up in a day. it is near the end of january, i'm happy with how much they have gotten done. Another person has a good point as well we got 29 days in february, 31 days in March and 30 days of April. Thats 90 days to put up track the worst will probably erecting the inversions because they are up so high and doing a push through with the sleek wingrider trains. i think we'll be good by May 15.
That's all I was saying, people both here and on Facebook (FB mainly, but I know they post/read here) are acting like the ground opened up and a completed coaster emerged from the bowels of the earth. I'm not saying they are behind or anything, they got oodles of time, they just aren't being as speedy like some believe, and are actually working *significantly* slower than on most coasters, probably due to the fact that they aren't battling deadlines. They put 1/3 of the lifthill up on tues, and another 3'rd wednesday. Lifthills usually go up moch faster since every piece of track is basically identical and goes in at an identical angle. Again nothing against the crew or anything, just wanted to interject some reason into this thread

I agree F about them taking their time it seems. It's not like we've had a Terrible winter (Until lately) but we had like 50/60 degree days for November and December. I would've started construction in October, just to wet peoples anticipation. Wild Eagle was finished faster.
They were supposed to start in late october, but B&M's shipment was slighty delayed, so they couldn't start pouring footers until mid November. Believe it or not, it was not SFGAm's fault.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter
I think they may have added a section onto the crane to get the height they needed. If all sections are not needed immediatley I believe they are not required to put all of them on. This would probably make it easier to maneuver and such.

Actually, B&M doesn't use the actual trains for a push/pull through, from what I've seen. They have a metal device that is built to the same dimensions as the outside clearance of the trains that they use instead to check clearances. It's pretty cool, and a heck of a lot easier to use than moving the full trains.
^Yep, it looks like a big metal, rounded door frame. I believe someone already showed a picture of this but with Manta on this thread but here is one with the Swarm. This was taken from the The Swarm Developer Diary FB page.

Who told you this? There were shipments in October.....When SFGAm probably planned this all out. X-Flight was started earlier, or about the same time that superman was started.

It also is amazing to see how close those clearances are to the supports/theming. One of the things I'm most anticipating about X-Flight are the awesome looking head/arm/leg chopper effects.

I'm guessing that those give clearance for arms and everything. it looks the arch way is clearance for arms.
All you need to do footers is blueprints from B&M. I can guarantee you without so much as a shadow of a doubt that the blueprints were at the park by July, well enough in advance to make a copy of them and hand them over to VIP so Keith could do his animations/artwork.
Everything else related to the footers is locally sourced.
