CHANG WATCH: The Official Topic

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

They could have done this so much better without affecting the beautiful entrance. I am extremely excited for Chang, but I do feel that moving the Go-Karts is a far better solution. Think about it, they have to modify the course anyways.

Even so David, the highest points are over the go karts, takin them out is not going to effect the ride even if they're there. You got the lifts drop off/turnaround & first drop above them. Its still using gokarts land regardless of them bein there or not. Right?

Sadly your theory is flawed, although could be correct.

Take a look at this photo:

You can see the support system for the lift is quite awkward, which results in fairly large footers. taking huge blocks of space.

I think what he was trying to say was, remove the gokarts and relocate them elsewhere in the mark so that they could use MORE of In park Area and preserve more entrance..... I still think the coaster will look AWESOME where it is, with the go-carts looping in and out from underneath, it will be alright!

I don't know...well see...were not the engineers here, the park & them know what they want & are doing. David well see :)

I'm not sure why I think this unless I did indeed read it at 2am correctly, if there was a recording of the meeting we can listen to...?!

Wouldn't it be cool if Six Flags did a poll or a vote for the acers or the public to vote on like 4 names for the ride and the one with the most votes wins. I personally like the green lantern name.

I would go for the Bizarro theme, just because it would be quite easy to carry out, add fire, fog, audio, braces, and paint, and you've got BIZARRO NUMBER ONE!

haha that would be neat.

I as mentioned 100times, wouldn't mind Bizarro. Green lantern, no go for me. I want a villain! as someone posted, we have too many heroes ;) now if we took the hero/villain route, Id like one of these names attached:

Two Face
Riddler
Joker

Now If they go a unique, original route as they did with callin a coaster Raging bull, Id much rather shoot for that. look at rides like RB, boss, Kingda Ka, Nitro, Tatsu, Titan, Pandemonium, etc....

It would almost make SENSE to use a Villan Theme.... Villain on one side of the plaza, Hero on the other....

^It did/does. The Six Flags St. Louis is the worst looking of the bunch as all black.

It is defiantly a ride that looked better in person. The yellow in photos just sucks due to cheap paint.

What did I miss?

How many Paint jobs did Chang Go through?

First it was Purple/Green,
Then Yellow/Yellow
Now Blue/Yellow

Future colors at great america.

When was it ever purple green? When Chang was bein constructed it was all solid gray unpainted steel, I know that. I remember the supports are what kept changing....yellow to purple to blue.

EDIT: I see what you mean, at one point it looked like Medusa....I think its yellow but am always corrected by the fact its lime green.

Yeah I saw that a few months ago when someone posted it here...I think they were just showin their possibilities...?! because if you look at the gallery, Chang is in its normal colors along with many other rides.

That would be me. I posted that photo months ago. I don't see why that color would be an issue? I don't mind a patriotic theme one bit.
