Opening Day 5-4-13

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Jackluver18 on May 5th, 2013, 12:21 am
I was planning on leaving my house at 9 am but got pushed back due to me leaving my dining pass voucher at my dad's house and he had to come over this morning and drop it off so I didn't leave until 9:20. Took a good 40 min to get to the park after getting stuck in construction at Peterson and Milwaukee. After getting out of that, I got a call from a friend of mine that the front gates at Grand were a nightmare so I went to go try the back gates by Eagle...yeah even more of a nightmare. One lane and very slow. Once getting in, I was told from my same friend that there wasn't an opening ceremony. Does anyone know why there wasnt? Anyways, I found the security checkpoint where they put it is in my honest opinion in a good spot. The line moved fast when I finally got into the park at 10:30 and by then it was already starting to get crowded in the park.

Once inside, I met up with my friends and got the RAP pass before we split and they went to attempt namtaB but found the line was too long so they went to V2 while I got a time for Whizzer which was gonna be 45 min so I went and got in the season pass processing line since I couldn't go the days they had set for that. After waiting for eternity to get my pass, I got on Whizzer. After Whizzer, my friends and I met up and got a time for namtaB which was a 2 hour wait so we went and had lunch before going on Whirligig. After Whirligig, we decided to do Little Dipper since we had time to spare before going on namtaB. Soon it was time for namtaB and all I can say was...I most certainly didn't feel good afterwards. Really messed with your head going through the corkscrews and the loops but it was neat to do.

Next we headed to XF and got a time which for RAP wasn't a very long wait. Got the back row left wing....great ride as always. After that we went and got on Bull...teal train back row. We then decided to do Viper next which wasn't all that long of a wait either for RAP. We then headed to STT and did 1 ride there before going on the carousel before getting a time for Superman. While waiting at SUF, a rather large group of people were trying to get on SUF and the supervisor told them "I can do 5 or 6 to a pass but not 15" quite funny if you ask me. We left since it was going to be an hour wait which it was now around 6 pm. So we did Rue la Dodge before getting a snack since we were going to Chili's after the park closed.

Going back to SUF to ride, the same group was up there but magically 5 people were added and the same girl goes "Ok how did it go from 11 to 15 to 20?" It was quite funny for me and my friends to watch. Once SUF was done, we did KC and decided on doing XF once more to end the night. While waiting in line, XF got stuck right at the platform for about 5-8 min....before getting it into the station. Mostly everyone had cleared out and we stayed getting rows 2-3-4 which was pretty awesome if you ask me. All in all it was fairly crowded day and missed Eagle, Demon but that's ok, there will be other trips to go on them. It was a great awesome day and the weather turned out to be perfect even though they said it was gonna rain. Can't wait for more upcoming trips.
