Cedar Point Announces Mean Streak "Gets the axe" on 9/16

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Sooooooooooooo possible RMC makeover? Seems kinda like a sadistic announcement if the ride is just coming down altogether.

Then again, Mean Streak is a pretty damn sadistic ride.

They just got Valravn this year, so I think it'll be SBNO for 2017, and Iron Streak for 2018

The announcement said "Gets the Axe" so, I think it will be deconstructed, and not be an RMC.

^Well they said that 'Mantis will be squashed' in 2014, so there's that.

We went to Cedar Point Sunday/Monday because we heard Mean Streak was leaving and wanted the kid to have a chance to ride it. Going into the park they had signs up to ride it because it was shutting down at the end of the season. Definitely seems like it's going.

Maybe RMC can set this one on fire, too.

Alright it's been a while since someone last posted in this thread but there is some news regrading Mean Streak. According to some TPR members who attended Cedar Points off season tour last week the park will announce whats happening to Mean Streak when try feel it's right. Also Screamscape still thinks RMC MS could open for the parks Halloween Fest (HalloWeekends).

Should be a fun announcement, don't see it happening anytime soon though

This is just a solid prediction but I'm betting that it will be named "Bronco". Had that name in my head since August

In other news Screamscape finally realizes that this isn't opening until 2018.

Sorry to bump but I saw something interesting today with Cedar Point. I live in the Southwest Suburbs near Joliet and I was at a meijer gas station today. On the counter they had a board for Cedar Point that was selling 1 day tickets for $53, $43 for child or senior 1 day, $57 for 1 day with drinks, and $88 for Cedar Point and Cedar Shores. They were being sold on prepaid cards. Now I've heard ads for CP on the radio around here, but Ive never seen tickets being sold. Are they being sold elsewhere in the Chicagoland area? Seems like they are really going out with the Shores and eventually Mean Streak.

Meijer has been selling CP tickets as long as they've been in this area and for the past 5+ years has been in the form of a card. Price is new though, last time i went, year Gatekeeper opened, Meijer tickets were still $39.99
