This week's edition explores a bit of operations and a great deal of information from entertainment. We hope you enjoy it!
The female you refer to is a highly skilled public relations practitioner from South Africa. Her accent is slightly different as are many North American English accents.
English is spoken in many countries other than our own. The language actually originated from a place called "England" where is was born from Saxon and Germanic influence.
Today there are 390 million native speakers of this language and over 600 million speak it as a second language. English can be heard primarily in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines, South Africa, Singapore, United Kingdom, and the United States where it has flourished and grown the most.
So I guess one isnt free to give there opinions about the quality of the podcast???
There was no personal attack, just a comment/opinion of the quality of the podcast.
well, generally the absolute worst and most screwed up form of English is spoken in the United States. If you go to say Great Britain most Americans cant even understand true English as spoken there, I know I sure as hell couldn't.
I personally think she speaks English quite well despite an accent, which most people I've talked to can understand perfectly fine.
And..
Bob O wrote:The accent might be hot if she hot lying next to me, but not on this podcast!! Maybe she works cheap which will help to reduce costs???
I think that sounds like an attack and then some. If you were her what would you think of that statement? You do know people from the park read this, is that something you would say to her face, if not I suggest refraining from posting that sort of trash here.

Bob, I think you're a bit confused. Let me give you a few examples regarding possible comments you could have made about the podcasts that would have been actual opinions about the quality of said podcast:
Positive -
I loved the interviews and the behind the scenes features.
The podcast really flows, is edited well, and overall enjoyable.
I like the trivia, and hope there is more of it!
Negative -
The podcast is a bit too long. Cutting out the fat would be good.
I think they spend too much time on trying to "upsell" more expensive park offerings.
John Curty. (I kid, I kid, Mr. Curty...Sorry, but I had to get you back for last weekend )
The above feedback might have been of interest to other sfgamworld.com forum readers, including perhaps, the public relations department of Six Flags Great America. But instead of actually providing your opinion on what you thought of the podcast's content, you posted an inflamatory statement regarding the accent of the podcast's co-host & Great America Public Relations Specialist. That comment, sir, does not constitute an opinion on the quality of the podcast.
Next time you want to state your opinion on a matter, try to keep it defined to the conversation at hand and don't make any personal attacks, there's a good fellow.
Good idea! Maintenance... That's one we haven't gotten to yet. It's coming...
Putting the final touches on GAB v6 right now. Not as pleased with it as I'd like to be. Trying out some new mic equipment and the content went a bit too long. Trying to cut it up. There is some trivia though, and some decent little prizes. We're going to try and work that in most every week now.
Bad news on v7. It will be conducted entirely by Marissa in Afrikaans. So if you're not one of the 10 million speakers of that Low Franconian language... it might be a struggle. I will do v8 entirely in French, v9 in Spanish, and v10 in English but with my best Aussie accent.
Before anyone else throws out a suggestion... if possible, I would like to hear V11 in Narn, V12 in Gallifreyan, and V13 in Elvish.
And no, I don't watch too much television or see too many movies.
Also, could you start distributing the podcasts with English subtitles for those who don't understand the non-English languages that will be featured in future podcasts? TIA.
