^ I thought JPM had strict rules that stated the characters were not allowed to scare smaller children, so I don't believe it will be too much of an issue.

Hey we have a winner as to the question "Why its under the tent"... Tent protects them from the heat!

The tent helps a little but on those 90+ degree days it still gets real humid in there.
in my opinion, I believe a 2-4 year old has no business inside a Six Flags park. Typically "junior" will probably come in, sleep through Wiggles, then cry and want to leave because of the Chicago heat during the summer.
Your kidding right Jon? Especially the remark about 2-4 year olds having no business inside a Six Flags park.
There is still a lot for kids 2-4 to do at Great America besides Wiggles World.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
Sky Trek Tower
Columbia Carousel
Marvin The Martian 3-D
Yankee Clipper (Lap Child)
Loggers Run (Lap Child)
Great America Raceway
Then going into the kiddie areas...
Wiggles-
Big Red Car Ride
Big Red Plane Ride
Rosy's Teacups
Bouncin' With Wags
S.S. Feathersword Pirate Ship
Henry's Splash Fountain
And others depending on height... (over 36")
Big Easy Balloons
Jester's Wild Ride
Chubasco
Space Shuttle America (Non-Motion)
East River Crawler
Splashwater Falls

.....No.
Plus, it's Family by Day, Fright By Night. Remember? By the time the ghouls come out, the kids are tired and'll want to go home.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.
Even so, as of now the only scareacters they would encounter on the way to wiggles is trolls if they don't move them, and demons which will probably be larger more high profile characters. Chances are the reason they moved area 51 over to the iron wolf area is so families didn't have to walk through it on the way to the new children's area. Cause let's face it area 51 worked very well in HTS, and seems like it'll be a bit strange in that small area. And like Director_Guy said, it is family by day fright by night so on the morning trek to wiggles kids won't have to see any characters at all, and at night on the way out of the park most scareacters won't scare little kids anyway even if JPM doesn't regulate it. And also I think that the people on this site generalize little kids all into one category. I was scared of the creatures when i was little but i've been going to fright fest since 1993, When I was three, and I loved it.
People complain about the extremely young age group for the Wiggles but you have to realize these rides they are putting in will cater and please children even older then 6 years of age.
It's no different then the other 2 kids areas except for the theming.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Please remind me to never venture over by that area unless I have an ipod in my hand, and to never go to the park the day that they arrive because I will scream at the top of my lungs. I swear to god the Wiggles scare me, as well as the stupid Doodlebops oh and to top it off Teletubbies scare me too. I will be tramatized for the rest of my life, I wouldn't have been bothered so much if we had Thomas the Tank Engine or something like that, anything but the Wiggles.

I seriously think this is an important question that Six Flags executives should be asking themselves. This ride has operated in the same fashion with the same entry since it's opening many, many years ago. People are going to be confused to head back there and not see Eagle's tent in the same light. I keep saying, and some keep disagreeing, that Eagle's enterance plaza and line need to go through some necessary planning and observation. It's not just a simple matter of pushing the line in another direction! To answer your question, it all depends on the attend they actually give Eagle with this change.

Uhh Tony, I really don't think people will not be able to find American Eagle. It's one of the first things you see on the expressway, you can hear everyone screaming from a mile away. Unless people confuse the scream with the unmistakable scream of horror from being around The Wiggles.
Do we really think we're that elitist that the "common man" can't find a 147 foot roller coaster? I really doubt SFI would do any harm to their parks. Especially one that grosses as much as ours.
^Going by your logic, you would agree with saying that it's okay to make the only enterance to the Sears Tower in the subway station a half a block away underground....I mean, it's a tall building and people know where the structure is so it doesn't matter how the enterance fits in. Am I right? Gosh, what a confusing world we would live in if this was the logic taken by the millions of architects out there.
The goal is to spend the time in line and on the ride, not finding it. Sure, it won't be impossible to find, but the goal is to make it EASY. And as for the "common man" comment, i think someone on vacation from Florida might have a harder time finding things than someone who can recite the height of each ride off the top of his head. That doesn't make us "elitist" (which Lord only knows if I'm using in correct context like is) , it makes us more knowledgable about the park which in turn, makes us oblivious to the fact that things we consider common sense, may not be to those who are new to this park.

Your metaphor forgets one thing, even if the only entrance was underground, there would be signs letting you know that. When me and my girl first got there, we had no idea how to get up to the skydeck. We walked around and found a sign saying its on the next street over.
Yes I know people who don't know the park may not know how to get into it but there are options for people to find it. American Eagle is still on the map. They could ask someone how to get there. Most importantly, the rides do have signs in front of the queue.
One point you didn't comment on is the fact that why would SFI do anything to harm their parks? I think this is just the off season nothing else better to do syndrome kicking in. We don't know what it will look like. We are all just speculating.
The circus ran there from 1976-1979. In 1980 it closed so AE could be built, and it is rumored that in 1979 an elephant escaped from the circus and ran down Washington St. (though it may be complete BS) which forced the circus to close.
The tent was put up after the circus to shade the people waiting in line (obviously), but the giant cupola entrance was there originally.
^ The elephant escaping is not a rumor. Back in 2000 during the 25th anniversary season, SFGAm had 25 fun facts up on the website. The elephant escaping was one of them. I have the document printed out at home.

Also, how long was that circus there originally?
Thanks, I used a lot of my "homework time" trying to write that right!
As far as the harming comment, the consequences of moving the enterance might not have been considered harmful. I know I for one can say that i've accidently hurt people without realizing it. It's a characteristic of the human mind--being oblivious once and a while. So I guess my answer to that would be that they probably didn't even think they were, and quite possibly might not be making a harmful decision. As you stated splendidly, this is just speculation.
Oh, and the Sears Tower is incredibly confusing to find, you're not alone on that one!

Its funny that you mention that....Remember that green wall the park put up across the bridge between Co. Fair and Hometown Square? Well, that season I had a chance to speek to (then) Park President Jim Wintrode and asked why the park would do such a thing. You know what his response was? He told me that "Guests were having a hard time finding SW Territory and Raging Bull".
You know...those must be the same people who can't find Eagle!
