Largest Seasonal Employer in Illinois to Raise Wages

Six Flags Great America to Pay Minimum $9.00 per Hour

GURNEE, Ill. - June 15, 2015 - Six Flags Great America announced today that it will raise wages affecting more than 80% of its team members. The increase from $8.25 per hour to $9.00 per hour will begin June 29, 2015.

Six Flags hires more than 4,200 seasonal employees each season to help run the 120 acre theme park and water park.

"Our team members are our biggest investment," said park president Hank Salemi. "We want to ensure that we are finding people that will commit to providing excellent guest service. Offering a competitive wage makes Six Flags an even more desirable place to work."

Team members at Six Flags enjoy other benefits of working at the world's largest regional theme park including free unlimited admission, employee events, reward and recognition programs, in-park discounts and an exciting work environment with plenty of leadership opportunities. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at http://www.sixflagsjobs.com. The next hiring event takes place on Friday, June 19 from 11:15am – 5:15pm at Six Flags Great America.

Six Flags Great America is celebrating 40 Seasons of Thrills this season. Initially built with a $50 million dollar investment, thousands of workers and enumerable details, Great America embodied the country's bicentennial with classic Americana-themed territories when it opened in 1976. The park's evolution over the past 40 seasons has lead the way with innovative, one-of-a-kind roller coasters, state-of-the-art shows and the development of a 20-acre water park.

This is definitely a good thing as I was turned down this year for my age. Next year I will be able to work without minor laws getting in the way. I'll update you guys on it next year.
