SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA INTRODUCES
'GLOW IN THE PARK' - A NEW NIGHTTIME PARADE

The Glow in the Park Parade will Showcase a World Renown Creative Team Including Cirque Du Soleil's Chief Composer Benoit Jutras

Gurnee, Ill. (Sept. 25, 2009) -Six Flags Great America announced today the launch of an all-new Glow in the Park parade set to begin May 29, 2010. The parade will feature drummers, puppeteers, singers, dancers and kinetic stilt walkers to create an unparalleled nighttime spectacular. Glow in the Park will incorporate the artistic talents of a highly distinguished production team creating an unparalleled nighttime parade spectacular at Six Flags Great America. The Glow in the Park parade will kick off at 9:30 p.m. Memorial Day and will run through August 15.

The parade will feature five custom-designed floats, 65 performers and approximately 35 support staff members and technicians. Each float will be adorned with vibrant-multicolored lights that will illuminate the midways and surround guests with custom-composed cirque-inspired music. Each float will be accompanied by its own plethora of talented performers and characters. The Glow in the Park nighttime parade will start in Hometown Square and will take approximately 30 minutes to wind through four themed sections including Carousel Plaza, Orleans Place and Mardi Gras.

"Six Flags Great America is proud to introduce such a magnificent parade that utilizes world-acclaimed creative resources and talents," said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America park president. "We are dedicated to providing superior and diversified entertainment that will thrill the entire family and are confident that our new Glow in the Park parade will add excitement to our theme park offerings."

The parade will utilize the combined talents of Gary Goddard Entertainment, a world-renowned creative group; who have already successfully produced Glow in the Park parade for several other Six Flags parks. The Gary Goddard Entertainment team is responsible for creating several attractions at various theme parks throughout the world including "The Spiderman Adventure" and "T2/3D" at Universal Studios Florida and "The Jurassic Park River Adventure" at Universal Studios in California. GGE is also the mastermind behind the Georgia Aquarium. For Glow in the Park, Goddard has enlisted one of Cirque Du Soleil's premier composers, Benoit Jutras, to produce the music for the parade. Raul Rodriguez, the internationally acclaimed conceptual parade designer, was commissioned to create the float designs. Michael La Fleur, whose resume includes artistic coordinator for Celine Dion's "A New Day" in Las Vegas, Imagineer for Disney and extensive Broadway musical and play work, will create fluid choreographed numbers for the Glow in the Park performers.

Guests can experience Glow in the Park parade all season long with a 2010 Season Pass which is on sale now at sixflags.com for the low price of $64.99. Season Passes include admission to the best water park in the nation, Hurricane Harbor; as well as admission for the remainder of the 2009 season including Fright Fest presented by Snickers. Season Pass holders will also receive a discount-packed 2010 value book with more than $500 dollars worth of offers including four Bring-A-Friend-Free tickets.

Six Flags Great America is located less than a tank of gas away from Chicago and Milwaukee and offers fun for the entire family with 13 heart-pounding roller coasters including Raging Bull, a free 15-acre water park, spectacular shows and parades four children's themed areas with over 35 kids rides including Wiggles World and meet and greets with Six Flags' world-famous cast of characters, including Mr. Six.

For those that leave the park before the parade starts...well what is the point? Guess I'll have to wait and see as I won't be making that many trips till 2011 (and Chang) rolls around.

This is a really good idea, not only is the parade good, but it keeps people in the park longer.

Think about it, the attraction is only at night, and its new. So people want to see it. Stay longer to watch it also, so its a very good addition. I liked our old parade but I am fine with this one. We still might have the day parade though...unless they already stopped that too.

So close to closing it really won't be the main reason why people stay longer...either they stay anyway or leave before it gets too late...
